does sound like a possible inverter board problem
have you had the board out and look at both sides for track or component damage

well I service microwaves but I dont think i could get access to tech unless i became a panasonic tech partner
being a microwave makes it worse as there are lethal voltages on the mag. The manufacturers argue that if they tell you howe to do it and you hurt yourself then they may be liable

from what a can remember this light does not come on till the door locks
i would check the door lock first

I assume no fault codes are appearing if you leave it running
How long have you left it ?
and your correct it cant be a capacitor

dont have exact manual but it does look like comm issue
you can check for wiring damage after that it gets silly

I cant bring up the exact model as the pnc number above may be wrong
some of the drums are split electrically to allow moisture detection. if it is there is often a carbon brush running on the drum

I would look at the door switches first after looking at google posts
I dont know of any reset sequences unless you have put the child lock by mistake ( if its got one )
