    Re: Electra electronic Deluxe 1200

    pull out the plug

    take the top off

if the motor is on the rear right hand side on top then machine is creda

brushes are two black holders clipped into the rear of motor fairly simple to replace but beware when you try to remove them as i have had customers damage the motor trying to release clip

if your in doubt call local engineer or take out the whole motor and take it to a local dealer who wiill fit brush safely for a few pounds

look in repairs@ to see if there is a member listed

Re: Weird filling issue and smell!

you have obviously got an undersink trap. with some of these the inlet for the washing machine drain is at the same height as the outlet going to the grid. result every time you drain the sink it fills the washer. the answer is simple tie the outlet hose up as high as you can under the sink (water cant climb hills)

have had a few of these myself you would think their maketing department and research and dev would have picked up this problem but no
on the other hand it gives us more silly calls to do as we are getting less simple common faults these days the days of the blocked logic and 95 pressure chambers are no more or at least rare

    have tried various methods

lots of heat sometimes works but if too rusted will just break t30 bit ( i have snapped 3 so far)

if all else fails drill them out George Hulme does a set of replacements with allen key heads add plenty of debor and screw in tight

    hope this helps

i get this problem all the time and have to explain to customers

they buy an Indesit for £180 or so and it last 18 months result £100 per year
or you could buy a Miele for about £800 and get a fee 10 year guarentee result £80 per year and no hassle changing it for over 10 years plus spares still available for 15 years plus as thet expect them to be still around

i know what i would buy

i agree with Dave above this is getting to be the norm for modern machines as to gain the A rating for wash quality they have increased wash time to improove cleaning ability. check the water supply is good and time how long the macine takes to fill. I have been to many machines where the taps to the machine looks like it is turned full on but is not. The worst I have had was a machine in an old house with poor supply taking about 15 mins to fill. with most machines these days if the fill cycle is excessive you would get an error code but it is worth checking. the same goes for the drain cycle. if you think about it if it takes 2 more minutes to fill it will add 8 mins to the cycle so it can add up

know what you mean with this problem there is a spate of machines using lots of the same colour wires. i have come to the conclusion this is because of the dissability discrimination act as now all engineers whether colour blind or not will be in the same position

    😆 😆

one thing you could do is check your sub engineers are covered by their own insurance policies
i do a lot of work for local housing assoc and a 2 local charities with client housed in small units with staff. i have to provide insurance details every year to check i am covered
but you may be still liable under vicarious liability this needs checking

Re: amp rating for built in double oven

in your case the 30a supply is more than adequate as you are fitting a gas hob
if you turned both oven and grill i would expect your unit would draw 4 to 5 kilowatts max which works out at 21 amps max

    hope this helps

now i know what this is for seemed a bit silly to make a hole in the roof of a machine full of hot water and steam and plug it with a flexible bung. keeps us in a job seeling the darn things back in when they fall out

my normal way of dealing with it is to ask customer for help

i can get it down ok but refuse to put it back without help which is not unreasonable and all customers up to now will help when you explain that td is not heavy just awkward

    Re: Candy 150QW Not drying

I dont know the model no but if this is a washer dryer the fault could also
be the lack of water getting into the machine. most condensor washer dryers let a small amount of cold water into the machine to create a cold spot to condense the steam to water no water means hot steamy clothes but no dry
