from my point of view the Bosch is the one i would go for

not a great lover of hoover these days and since Haier now owns them that makes me wary as they do not seemed to have changed much to improve the brand

Kenwood as you say is one of those names you can use for a price. so currys import rubbish and brand it Kenwood

LG not sure some LG stuff is ok some not. Seen very few dishwashers

Beko as you say is a budget brand but they often last quite well against competitors. They also make Blomberg which carries better warranties

With Bosch you could also look at Neff and Siemans as its the same company so will be identical works

you old zanussi machine will never be produced these days the idea of reliability has moved aside to be replaced by price. Zanussi is owned by Electrolux and they are reducing the use of the zanussi brand in the uk to favour AEG. Also a lot of John Lewis own brand machines are AEG in disguise

will tag out retail guru to see if he has recovered from Christmas

    any more ideas Don ?

    oh an yes just remembered
think is was either AEG or Miele or poss both used a hybrid motor that combined induction and brush motor in one case. induction was used for the wash while the brush motor kicked in for the spin but it did used electronic control

And yes Andyjawa had forgotten about the variator pulleys used on ariston and candy. Dot you also remember the philips top loader HN3156

have done a few of those years ago

I had another make that gave a flood fault because the kitchen fitters had broken rear leg and used wood which bent the base up a bit

not that i can think of
assume you have checked for fat blockages under the sink

info is sketchy but some sources show this as a drain fault

check the hose from the soap draw to the drum
used to get leaks from there

    TCL washing machine error codes

    Credit to Andyjawa

If your TCL washing machine is displaying an error code, it can be frustrating and confusing. Here’s a breakdown of the most common TCL washing machine error codes, what they mean, and how to fix them: This is a general guide least for the FF series
E1: This error code indicates that the washer is filling up with water too slowly. Check to make sure the tap is turned on, the water pressure is adequate, and the inlet hose is not blocked.
E2: If you see this error code, it means that there is a drainage issue. Check to see if the drain pump`s filter is clogged. Or something jamming the pump`s impeller. Or on a new build house the under the sink drainage nozzle`s bung has not been removed by Bob the builder or the end of the nozzle has not been cut off; both = no pump out.
E3: This error code means that the door lock is broken. Ensure that the door is closed properly and check if any clothes are caught between the door and the seal. Very important this one otherwise you get a torn door seal lip =£££
E4: If your washing machine is overflowing with water: check valve, `check` pressure switch** and its hose and the air chamber.
** Do not blow into the pressure switch as you`ll ruin. In the practical real world it basically cannot be tested only replaced – they seldom fail which is lucky because they are not cheap for these machines for reasons that defy all reason!
E5: This error code indicates that the electrical motor is broken.
E6: If you see this error code, it means that the heater is not working.
E7: This error code indicates that there is a temperature sensor fault. known fault broken wire in loom where loom is anchored to tank
E9: If you see this error code, it means there is a communication failure between components.
E10: This error code indicates that there is an inverter failure unclear if this points to inverter pcb or inverter motor which should be E5.
EP: If you see this error code, it means that the procedure running does not correspond to the cycle that the knob is pointing to. Turn the cycle selector to the corresponding cycle for the procedure that is running.

how many people remember the first Indesit machine to come over. It was £99 which was very cheap for the time. mechanical timer, pump was mounted on the front of the main motor which was induction so to pump out machine had to go into spin full of water. That meant it had a spin speed of 400 rpm. its was almost dripping when it came out

very simple machine to service, coins in the pump were common and often destroyed the impeller which was rubber held on by a left hand bolt. Or the coin stayed in there that long that it rubbed through the aluminium pump housing. All really simple and cheap to fix

you cant really get decent spin speeds without electronic control. go back years and Bendix had a control board on an induction motor so boards are nothing new

all this drive is down to efficiency to get the higher ratings. a 3 phase motor is more powerful, more efficient and cheaper to make so it makes sense to use them. by and large they can be more reliable but we live in damp housing and condensation plays havoc with electronics not to mention the odd slug

ok plug them in somewhere else and see what happens but it must be on another breaker

just seems odd you have 2 units with the same fault at the same time

the circuit is the only common factor, could be an over sensitive breaker

    and probably buy another Bush

    people dont learn

if you were not away you could have bridged it. Most people dont use the timer anyway

    sounds a bit odd
can understand shop mode but shop mode where you can still turn on the hob makes no sense at all

change the timer it will probably be ok as i cant see any other components causing it (£20 on ASWO)

    or bridge the timer relay

why don’t you add this to known error codes

well its Vestel built. service info is on ASWO

does not mention a demo mode. does mention a key lock but does not seem to say how to take it on and off
    but
there are over 15 models with the same model no, would need the serial no to look it up to see if the correct one differs in any way

also cant see this having a demo mode as there would have to be full electronic control for the hob and this uses regulators

have they tried turning it off for 10 mins and then reset clock when they turn it on ?
