    Re: Creda Reversair sensadry

as stated above normal reason for squeek is the belt tensioner pulleys but be careful tumble driers do not rumble when the bearings go as they use plasic skates and felt bearings which are quiet until the last minute and then normally make a scraping noise

if it is the belt pulley should be part no x245677 and if it is a reversible drier it will have 2 of them

above part no is most common pulley and should be the one on yours but double check part no as my info is not to hand

you could try wd40 to acertain the definate fault

had to scrap a 45 year old machine about 2 years ago bearings and motor as good as the day ythey were made machine had no suspension and was bolted to the floor
all that scrapped it was a small peice of ali snapped off the filter tray causing it to leak

Re: Changing drum bearings on an Ariston Margherita A1435UK

you hve not picked an easy machine to start on all the bolt have an anti shake compound on them to prevent them comng loose. the pulley bolt grips hard and will have to be freed off first with a hammer and drift. as for the rest of the bolts you lay the machine in the best position to access but be careful i got 4 stitches when the spanner broke on one of these
you will not need puller just gentle persuation

    @ washtec

I know what you mean abut the wma shaft screws i stated out getting about 50{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} out then it dropped to none on the last batch. This is not a job i do in the customers home i have got 4 drum units which i recon 2 or three at a time and do a complete swop in the house find that the best way as using blow lamp in customers houses is not recommended on insurance grounds

What i want to know is why some machines have six screws in and some only 3 another penny pinching ariston scheme ?

    Re: crusader 37667 condensing dryer

not much else it can be

if it was motor fault either cap or winding would not rotate at all

could be broken wire from time but this is a long shot

as with most tumble dryers they switch the live from one side of the cap to the other so not much can go wrong

Re: The Easy Way to remove Hotpoint Drum Bearings

i can see where other posters are coming from but in my opinion use use the method which is going to cause the least damage

with my method on a wma machine i have had 2 problems removing rings

1 where the whole sleeve came out
2 where the ring was damaged the bearing would not stay in place

clean around the old sleeve add a bit of wd40 put bearings into place place tub on b&d workmate so as to miss lugs and heater and using a drift (i have an old shaft from a hot T/L)

if using method on a wm machine i use the hotpoint puller kit and ring drops out a treat most of the time

my method was originally used to get the bearing out of the 3314 twin tub which if fell to bits was a challenge by any other method

had one of these so far more will follow no doubt

also had a spate of wm machines where the tube comes out of the outer drum

remember going to do a seal on Ariston 850xd years ago

customer spent 9 hours trying to fit

my time 2 mins 40 secs

customer could not believe but if he had not tried himself he would be thinking i was ripping him off with the price

as it happened like this he realised it was the skill and knowhow he was paying for

with all machines with garter springs

zanussi old hotpoints & even older english electric liberators for those of you that can remember etc fairy liquid and determintion is the only way

put machine code in new board now working a treat

have had this machine for 18 months i knew the answer would come one day

original pcb was faulty not allowing machine to heat

according to manual this machine skips heat section if taking too long so we could have a lot of machines out there were the customer does not know there is a fault

    Thanks Dave 😀 😀

    @ dave conway

    prod no is 914512801 / 00

    @ florin

did not think it was a relay driver fault because the programme went through as normal. if it had been i would expect some sort of fault code. did your machine stop or not. sometimes i would play with the board and it would start to heat but then it would forget to stop and boil everything. I have come to the conclusion that the temp measuring circuit must be faulty and tells processor that it is already up to heat but that does not tell me why when i get it to heat it boils

sent board to tony at emw in the hope theycould fix and they put a new relay in desperation and hope but it did not work

    Re: Where do we stand.

i have always charged some sort of call out charge i have always looked at it as my reason to be honest
ie i dont have to do a small repair on a scrap machine to make money
but the number of calls we get were people want me to look for nothing and hang up in disgust when i say i want £12 (soon to £15 i think about time it went up )
i am sure if their parner went to work and was not paid for some of their time they spent there they would be the first ones to complain

i have found however if you can get them talking about the fault this will normally seal the job despite their objection to the charge as they get to realise you know what you are doing along with the fact you can normally guess the likely fault and cost but you make it clear you cannot be certain till you look

i have had one appliance delivery go wrong on a candy f/f Customer was an old lady and came to me with all sorts of problems she had had with it. I phoned Candy who gave a completely different veiw of the faults. I suggested the customer talked to trading standards who in turn got her to write a recorded delivery letter to me rejecting the goods and wanting a refund. Candy however were saying that two of the faults were the cutomers fault and the latest problem was a faulty door so they had the right not to replace but to forve a repair. the customer refused to let the repair go ahead. we tried to talk to the trading standards officer who took the call but they wont talk to you so in the end i sent two recorded delivery letters one to the customer and one to T standards. so far no more letters but the intervention of trading standards and the fact they did not ring me for my side of the story nor did they ring Candy meant they gave totally bad advise which ruined the rapor i had with this customer
