ParticipantFrom the sounds of it you will need the rear pcb.
On the casing of the rear pcb there will be a coloured round label now the expensive thing is that certain ones will need the main pcb and the dispaly pcb changed as the early ones had a software conflict.

ParticipantTo be honest sounds as he is quoting an over the top price.
Rough estimate would be about £200 using a decent compressor.
But if you can get one to fit in the cabinet the option is either adapt a new unit for the whole or have it repaired.December 4, 2007 at 5:05 pm in reply to: Fisher & Paykel Inox Noisy Fan after repair of other fau #236198expertcat
ParticipantHE MIGHT HAVE TRAPPED THE WIRES ON THE FAN MOTOR BLADE.

ParticipantBut would an inverter work because of the high current required to start the compressor for that fraction of a second might opertate it over current trip?

ParticipantSounds like rear pcb blown out from condensation from the rear vent.
Change pcb and defrost sensor.
Never had element fail but had once a sensor fail causing heaters to stay on which eventually took thermal fuse and warped fan motor.

ParticipantNo screws for this door its a paint scapper job that you will most likley damage the liner or a replacement door.
