You cannot fit the hot to the cold it wont work because of the temp senseing you can try on a cold fill only to test.
    Also
The valves on the F&P machines go faulty over time with high water pressure if you put the hot on the cold asuming the valve is the same age it will most likely damage the valve.

    Thanks Dave
I did try a motor from another Machine with bearing failure thinking it was ok but it apears to be the same. Newe motor on order will keep you updated on result

Perhaps also have a look at the motor had a problem like that. Was a bit puzzled so taking it back to the workshop noticed the armature as I put the machine in the van. Sometimes you get lucky

    Re: F&P 603 washer

    So the valves are ok
It may just be in our cold winters around 7 degrees 🙂 That your hot
water is not hot enough you can ajust the temps in the option ajustment mode.
I have had a problem like this on a 603 that I fixed by fitting a cold valve to the hot inlet for some reason the hot voltage was lower around 12v on test but 8v on normal fill and fitting a cold valve fixed it
I dont think the valve is faulty as it fills ok in diagnostic mode

    Re: F&P 603 washer

If your machine is working on cold it would be unusual for it to be the motor control module more likely to be a blockage in the hot tap filter. If you go into the test program try the valves by pressing the hot and cold water temp buttons
603 is a good model around $250 to replace the MCM
You also say the hot and cold valves are $20 thats not right??? was the hot replaced

Re: Bit of advice re washing machine leak

The building code in Aus means most machines are instaled in wet areas if it floods no damage is done to the building a drain on the floor takes care of the water asumming its done right??
If a machines not in a wet area we warn the customer not to use the machine unless present If anything hapens hard luck
And pay the insurance just in case

    Re: Smartdrive 051 drum fallen

Sometimes the later model F&Ps the small plastic part on the top cracks allowing the drum to drop.
If the spring is connected on the front LHS and the machine is level most times the machine will work and the drum will be in the possition in the manual.
(bits of paper stapled together in the sealed plastic bag 🙂 ) If it is not in the centre slightly forward thats important you have a problem with the suspension legs.

Its a comman fault on phase 5 machines the solinoid goes on the cold water and damages the module. It then gives the error code for the Hot inlet. They can be repaired.

Go into the diagnostic mode and togle the low water level light on by pressing the water level down light do not togle the high water level light or the machine will wash forever

The code you had was 43 Balance Switch was closed
Check the drum position inside the machine
Go up one more light on the spin and you can check the balance and lid swich.

You have it so easy the odd mouse and lizard I arrived at a customers house only to find to get to the front door had to navigate past some bee hives . Lucky it was getting late and they were a bit sleepy.
Make it to the Machine and got to work.
Next thing the husband starts swearing runs out then back in the laundry with a shotgun relived as he goes out the back door but then starts shooting. Me thinking Im in the middle of a rather serious domestic despute.? He brings in a Brown Snake with a few holes in it.
Australia also has its good side in the summer went to a house no answer at the front door so went round the back and had to contend with a small dog. Heard a shout and just turned round as the naked woman covered herself with her towel. Didnt see a thing I could have kicked that dog.
