    Re: Samsung RS21DCSV

Sorry to sort of hijack this post, but this happened to my French bought RS55XDNS some four years ago and I purchased the complete repair kit and effected a successful repair.

Sadly I am having further problems which may be related..
I noticed the fan making noises (as though it is just hitting an ice build up) which stops when I open the door. The water supply is till functioning so not yet frozen. Suspecting potential problems I have turned off the power supply for a couple of minutes to establish results. Before switching off the temps were Freezer -18C and Fridge +4C…..switch off then on readings Freezer -13C and Fridge +13C

The complete kit was installed just over 4 years ago so suspect that I may only need one or two parts replacing. Bryan – I would appreciate your wisdom and input to keep this fabulous piece of kit functioning as it should.

Needless to say Samsung UK offer no assistance apart from giving me Samsung France number as it was bought in France!!! – Now back in the UK.

Re: Samsung RS21 – freezer temperature display flashing

This is likely to be only a temporary fix!!

You need to search this forum for RS21 problems and you will find that you will have to buy a repair kit (available from eBay sellers)

    That does the job!!

Well that’s a very good price but I have been told they cannot be fitted to the heat pump dryers because these are self-cleaning dryers. Does this mean the tray accumulates wet lint? Perhaps the pump will not cope with that?

Instead of the pump pushing the condensate to the inbuilt container it pumps it to waste! How difficult is that?

Yes Stephen, you can buy a (Bosch) kit that pumps the condensate to drain, instead of having to empty the tank on a daily basis.

Do a search on this forum and you will find you are not alone! Seems that Samsung is the main culprit, but perhaps Whirlpool suffers the same problem?

Re: Samsung RSH1NHMH Buzzing Noise, but stops when door open

It will need a repair doing, but as it is just out of warranty I would push for Samsung to foot the bill. This is a recognised problem and Samsung will know all about it when you contact them.

The buzzing noise is a build up of ice behind the panel at the back of the inside of your fridge and the fan is just skimming the ice build up. When you open the door the fan stops (and stops skimming the ice) hence the silence. Close the door and the fan starts skimming the ice again. You can switch the fridge off to defrost the fridge (overnight) but the build up of ice will start again, because of your fault.

Let us know how you get on with Samsung.

Re: Samsung RS55XDGNS (Similar to RS21) – No water dispensin

OK, I got around to buying the full kit necessary to carry out this fix. Whilst the kit contained all parts necessary I found the instructions somewhat lacking and appeared to have been written by somebody who did not have English as their first language!! Perhaps translated from the Japanese version of Samsung instructions. The photographs were as good as useless! The instructions missed out some very important advice about removing the lighting cover in the back of the fridge – but fortunately I managed to get the cover off without any damage.

All fixed now and working well….

If you have similar problems with your Samsung fridge/freezer (RS21 type) do not attempt a fix by buying a bit at a time and hope for a solution. You really will need all the bits in the kit sooner rather than later, so bite the bullet and buy the lot. However do some research on the seller and find out if the instructions are complete and if they will be around to answer any questions you may have! My kit arrived with no sender details, or telephone number! Fortunately I am fluent in reading between the lines and was able to manage the fix. However I suspect that many would have had some problems without a comprehensive instructions leaflet.

Good luck to anybody in a similar situation.

Re: Samsung RS55XDGNS (Similar to RS21) – No water dispensin

Hi Bryan, and thanks for your speedy reply.

Presumably there will be no urgency for effecting this repair as we will not be in the UK for a couple of weeks, and do not want to defrost the fridge until I have the repair kit?

Is this an easy fix and will it stop this happening again?

    Many thanks.

Re: Bosch WTE84308GB – Cleaning front vent!

    Hi Clive

Thanks for that info. No, it is not too badly fluffed up, it is just that I like to see what is going on!

Not a major priority, so will ensure that the main fluff trap and the heat exchanger are cleaned regularly. It is two years old (bought off eBay) and the heat exchanger appears not to have been cleaned!!

Apart from that it is like new. Thanks for the input (and ref no of spare part!)

Hi Clive, thanks for the reply.

The model is confirmed as Bosch WTE84308GB Exxcel – a Google search will find many hits.

Very strange that they do not recognise the model number!!

You will find it reviewed at http://reviews.argos.co.uk/1493-en_gb/4752141/reviews.htm
