Won’t or shouldn’t happen on a Miele, they incorporate a spring loaded plastic peg which runs through the centre of each brush which shoots out pushing the brush away from the commutator when app a quarter of the brush is left; therefore not allowing the brush to wear down to the bone as it were, and cause damage.
