    By the sounds of it, I would be looking at a semi jamming drain pump due to the heat, as the rinse cycle is done in cold.

    Un plug appliance whenever attempting repair :plug:

    Is it heating I wonder? Check during the wash and when it stops if the water is hot.

    Have you checked that the drain hose isn’t too far down the physical drain pipe, causing air lock or syphon??

    As a corgi engineer I would say no. If there is an isolator gas tap to gas appliance/s he has fitted turn them to the off position and look for corgi engineer in links above I gave, just to make sure all well and dandy.
