Good advice “guest”. How about registering if you an engineer in the trade (see kwatt)
Too elaborate on fault, remove front plinth part of d/w. You will then see a 1ft transclucent ribbed pipe going from metering unit on l/h side to sump.This pipe is ‘O’ ringed either end and will pull off to enable cleaning.Reasssemble an fault should disappear.
As always remember DISCONNECT appliance before attempting any repair :plug:

Glad to be of assistance, for your info I have found exchanging the hose is a far better repair as it tends to gunge up quicker due to remnants.
Hose is only approx £5 if you want p/no and correct price let me know.Greg

Some have a diverter unit which could be stuck caussing your fault but as

Almost certainly a blocked metering hose running from l/h tank to sump base. Can also be a sensitive aquastop unit but not as often as the gunged metering hose.Greg

I agree with Ken, but Ive never seen it with an Exxcel/Maxx.
I have had similar sounds with the LG, was lateral play in the bearing, sorry can’t be any more help.Regards
