Just to update you , all of a sudden its working normally now , it has ran several cycles and been so even more puzzling perhaps something was blocked in filter and the machine gave a error code that needed resetting via unplugging but glad it seems to work now though i will be keeping a close eye on it. Thanks again to dave and everyone for your help

thanks Dave , so question is ,is it definitely the PCB and are these machines built well enough to justify the cost of repair ? I can soon send the board off for review around £50 but I don’t get how it will complete a cycle or start one and then die until you take fuse out ?

one weird thing I noticed is when I took the fuse out and put a new one in , display lit up but then when I swapped it back to Orginal fuse it started filling with water. Now I can’t be sure if it did this the first time but this seemed very odd.

is there any other module , cable etc I should be checking ?

im gonna try a 30 min wash and see what errors if any come up or what it actually does before dying.

    Thanks again Dave

looked up the model and got 33 machines with same model

also the board may be faulty but can sometimes be repaired

    Dave

    The mystery depens

    So here is the PNC 911 514 013 01

    type is GHE621DB4

I went to the flat yesterday removed the fuse and put a new one in , machine powered in to life and started a wash and completed a wash I believe.

Then this morning went to switch on and same issue display dead and nothing.

Not sure what to think as surely if PCB gone it would be dead not intermittent. Heater maybe ? Never had something cause a machine to act dead until fuse removed. Original fuse was fine FYI.

    im stumped

First thing I tried Dave plus plug fuse

When First installed the machine started a 70 degree wash and 40 mins came up with an error according to a flatmate and now is dead , no power what so ever.

Do these have a thermal cut out ? The worry is what caused it to trip as I said I’m petrified it’s PCB as that’s £160

“Indeed Andy to be fair my last one lasted 6 years before the heat pump gave way and it just wasn’t worth the hassle and cost of the part , wish i did bother now as at least it didnt leak !” To give you some context the original SMV series from the 1990s would last 25 years without much grief. The SGS series that came after that was less reliable, The SMV AND SMS stuff was /is dreadful….so it spirals down towards the ground like German cars: full of classy gismos that make a car unreliable and expensive to fix, do not get me started on electric cars – complete waste of money!.

Agree fully , my mums Bosch is nearly 30 years old and is still running albeit its in a vacation home , have now parked my one to test outside when weather is better and took another machine out of storage AEG FFB41600ZW. Lets hope these are built better but one things for sure no more Bosch products will be bought as they are pants lately will check out Zenith. [h=1][/h]

thanks all , what a disgrace that bosch designed these without any foresight , beko it is , i mean surely the hot wash is the bloody point of a dishwasher !

Ill see if i got lucky with cold inlet but doesn’t fill me with hope

electrofix wrote: if the leak is on the joint between the metal and plastic there is no easy answer. you could try silicone but make sure its well cleaned before you apply

    Dave

Well as guessed it didnt work , i would have thought a bead of sanitary silicone should have worked , is it imperative to use the rubber kit that im seeing online , i sealed from bottom of sump also the error popped up without the machine even being used or run , the machine was full of water when i moved it , is this normal ? I have a horrid feeling the pump has now gone as i cant understand why the machine was full of water as it hadn’t been run 🙁

Honestly fed up with the bugger but dont want all work to go to waste !

I did observe a water leak on the actual cold water connection which i tightened so if im lucky it could be that but it being full of water makes no sense to me other than a faulty inlet valve and pump gone bad.

To give context this is in a tenanted property so i can only visit once a week to sort out , any other tips before i throw the towel in.

Appreciate all help i can get.

I always find boiled water and some bicarb soda works wonders for the draw and any channels but if its for the machines actual supply pipes i would see what dave and others say as i couldn’t trust any strong chemicals

    Cheers guys

you guessed it , leaked between sump and metal

dried and sealed between them with some silicone , hopefully it does the trick if not it’s going over the balcony. Given the pitiful 2 screws I’m guessing vibration during transit didn’t help , so not sure how to safely move these things without causing issue.

I tend to buy used so will keep an eye for Bloomberg but prefer freestanding for ease of repair.

Will keep you posted on results

Yep you probably are. so it`ll be you as only one more upon thousands in the same leaky boat. They are utter rubbish and severally over rated dishwashers though very popular. One of my customers had a similar model and she suggested I stayed at her place on a bed and breakfast basis due the number of times the pox ridden contraption went wrong . So when the last straw came she ditched it………………..and bought another Bosch. Yep, there`s no hope there!

Indeed Andy to be fair my last one lasted 6 years before the heat pump gave way and it just wasn’t worth the hassle and cost of the part , wish i did bother now as at least it didnt leak !

Any recommendations for a decent one thats not too pricey , cant be paying miele money ;). Perhaps a beko ??

Thanks Dave what is the remedy for this as I took bottom off and leak seemed to be coming from the back , is there hoses there ? I’m now certain I must have damaged it during transit ‍♂️‍♂️

I fully strip it next week and see what I can find

    Hey Dave

I did tilt it and it worked but after 15 mins fault back again so I assume it’s a constant leak

checked rubbers and can’t see any issues

once I get front bottom panel off gonna look to see how much water is there and take it on.

any parts that are known to leak ?

hoping some epoxy can plug small weaps but let’s see ‍♂️
