ParticipantRe: Hotpoint DC26
Thanks for the replies I will go back and have another look at the model No. I remember a post regarding changing the front bearing on the motor, Wonder if any one has tried it as the customer has a kitchen full of HP graphite appliances and is desperate to keep the dishwasher as replacements are NLA.

I agree with Alex on this one the only calls I was sure was from any advertising was from Yell.com. In my patch there has been a huge amount of new housing developments mainly occupied by young first time buyers and I am sure that when they have a problem with a machine the first thing thy will look at is the PC and Google not the dinosaurs phone book. I am seriously considering having some professional web pages designed and get higher up in the Goggle listings.

At last years YP renewal time I was well and truly stuffed by them, I was talked into subscribing to a new scheme they were running where they advertised your business on a 0845 ******** number and at the end of the year they could prove exactly how may calls I received through YP. Like a t**t I also agreed that I would not put my mobile number in the add, So come this years renewal I was sent a statement showing that I had received 185 call via YP, I probably did, but as my mobile was not listed I doubt that I received more than 50 calls. I feel that I was well and truly taken by The Yellow Robbers, So when I received 3 calls from them trying to talk me out of cancelling, I took great delight in telling them what a bunch of merchant bankers thay were. On the last call I received from them on my mobile I kept the Di** H**d talking for so long that he admited that the call to my mobile cost more that the commision he would make. Cheered me up that did 😉 .

ParticipantRe: Whirlpool Dishwasher NTC
Called back today and the Beko part worked fine on the 30c wash but while testing on a 50c wash the infamous Askol pump died on me 👿 Quoted for a new motor and as the NTC is now £20 cheaper I got the job. Not doing the job for 2 weeks as she’s off to Dubai and the Maldives tomorrow. Alright for some.

Could not find a thermometer so measured in my hot coffee both 22, Then Luke warm water 34-35 than again at room temp 47- 48. If i have time today I will try the Beko one on the machine, Thats if I have diagnosed the fault to be the NTC correctly.

Hi Kirk, That was what I was after the button type stats, Not the older micro temps, Seem stupid that you have to change a complete heater assy for want of a small part. With Hoover I have never been able to identify the stats temp rating.

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint BS63E Oven
Called back today and customer told me the fault appeared when he used the Multi cook function for the first time, Oven worked after it had cooled down, so suggested due to a possible installation problem it my be wise to use the fan oven setting rather than the multi cook as apparently it uses all the elements together.

ParticipantRe: whirlpool t/loader
No wonder then that many years ago when i was contracting for Whirlpool I spent weeks trying to source that little bit of plastic that coupled the motor shaft to the pump, Even WP spares didn’t know the part number . So for a part that costs pence you have to buy the complete motor. Nuts or what?

ParticipantRe: Terminal blocks
Thanks for that Ken, I dread to think what CPC would charge for a 50m drum !. I will see if my local lecy wholesaler will get some in for me and supply in lengths.

Steven, I replace quite a few hobs and have had the same problem as yourself. The last one I replaced had an existing 6mm heat resistant cable fitted which was a lot easier to fit to the new hob as it was multi stranded. For the next one I am going to try to source some 6mm butyl cable as it would make life a whole lot easier. I was lurking on the screwfix sparks site when this was discussed and some posters stated that hobs should be wired in 10m, I had to post back to tell them NO CHANCE I will let you know if I can find the flex cable.

ParticipantRe: Connect next day delivery? Am I just unlucky?
Just had my first experience of DHL home delivery courier service, Not a good one! Right house number wrong road and then left with a neighbor in the wrong road 😡 .
