Re: Heater Element/Hotpoint Washer Dryer WD 22W

Even if the heater was faulty on this machine it would still complete a full cycle, the only noticable problem would be poor wash results on heavily soiled clothes. It may be time to get some expert help before you end up changing more parts that you do not/may not need. I assume you checked the displaced heater element for continuity/resistance before you removed it from the machine ?

PS. there is no thermostat on the wash side of this machine.

Got a similar problem where our Washing Machine. It stops on the Rinse cycle and the programme selector knob starts spinning around.

I’ve counted 2 flashes of the LED, so what could this be?

    It’s a Margherita 2000 A1435

Timers are fairly reliable but I did have to change one on a Hotpoint (same machine) only last week for this problem. Before I fitted it I checked the circuits through the timer, something you may not be able to do easily.

Timer is part No: 1702509. You can order one from spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk It is around £35.00 plus vat and postage and will almost certainly include a different timer that will come with information on the wiring changes needed.

Be sure to remove the mains plug before working on the dryer.

As you know I have had my reservations about our friend happycack and his alleged brother in law, also the tone of some of his posts disturbs me. This doesn’t help to allay my suspicions. 😥

Re: Testing or Bypassing Door Interlock

If the customer opens the door and scalds her young child who just happens to be crawling along the floor at the time, or puts their little arm inside whist it is on spin, you will need a lot more than your legal boffin to get you out of the brown stuff. Don’t do it. it is just not worth the risk. I would give them a bloody door lock or leave the machine unrepaired before I would do this. It only takes 5 minutes to solder the timer tracks FGS.

Re: Help with my Marghetia 2000 ALD12S washing machine!

The problem is its an Indesit. 😥

2 flashes signify a jammed motor or motor/board related fault. Only an examination of the machine would reveal the exact cause, the error codes (flashes) are only a guide to the ‘possible’ fault. It could just be a bad connection.

Try the link below to see if we have someone in your area who could help.

Remember to remove the mains plug if you open it up.

    Re: Hotpoint Aquarius 9538

Difficult to be precise, only a full strip down would reveal the overall state of the machine. The drum support may be corroded or have a damaged shaft, the inner drum may have damaged the heater due to the bearing failure, the pump worn & noisy or if original, leaking. The motor bearings could be worn, the control timer, internal On/Off contacts could be suspect, the internal hoses could be perished or brittle etc, etc. So much ot check on a machine of this age. I repair lots of them and much older ones as well but all of the above age related problems need to be taken into consideration.

Please be sure to remove the mains plug if you intend to proceed.
