    Re: WEEE & Recycling

If you apply you get quite a bit of useful info. I don’t uplift full machines but do remove WMA drums complete to refurbish. I find it easier to do this in my garage than in the customers kitchen. I used to sneak the old rear halves down to the local council tip but they have become very watchful recently and I decided it was not worth risking any longer. With the licence I cannot take my scrap to the local facility but to a designated yard in Rochdale about 3 miles away that is authorised to accept trade waste etc.

The fun bit is deciding what six digit European Waste Catalogue (EWC) code your waste comes under. The list is rather long. 😉

    I think I will use 16 02 14 or should it be 16 02 06 or even 20 01 36. 😕

The really annoying part is that belts used to last 8 or 10 years before failing, not 8 or 10 months. 👿

A waste carriers licence is not that expensive, I obtained one recently. Simple procedure, cost £140 for three years, better than one hefty fine for taking an empty cardboard box away. 😥

Re: Indesit superceeded parts advice for WIE 157 washing Mac

I replied to your other post in the Spares forum before I saw this one, the eeprom is NOT on the display PCB, it is on the main Control/Power module in the base at the back.

Re: Indesit WIE 157S UK Control panel PCB

The display module is a different part to the main power control module which is in the base. This is the £96 module that has the eeprom fitted, not the display PCB.

Two different display modules fitted, one of them is around £20 + vat, the other £55 + vat. The cheaper one is the later one and will eventually supercede the earlier one. The serial number of your machine will help to identify the correct display PCB, chances are that all stock of the old type have been used so the later one would suffice.

However to answer your last request for ‘any advice’……… bin it and buy something decent.

Could you possibly mean a TVR2?

Does the timer stop after exactly 20 minutes every time, has the timer run down to 100 minutes ? What happens if you set it for say, 60 minutes?

Could be a relay fault, two different ones fitted to these, the early box type and the later PCB type.

Have you tried a new belt. If I go to any WMA model, metal or plastic pulley and the belt is adrift I always replace it.

I have condemned Indesit appliances at 18 months to two years old in the past couple of weeks, totally uneconomic to repair. 👿 At least the Hotpoint badge on the front of this Indesit, gives you 5 years parts guarantee. I have customers with Hotpoint branded, Bosch made dishwashers over 20 years old still working perfectly, if that doesn’t give you a clue as to the direction you need to look then nothing will. 😉

    1. Very awkward, no special tool AFAIK you need some large mole grips or pump pliers to twist the motor back to refit the mounting screws. You have to release the motor mounting screws to allow the belt to fit round the jockey pulley. Partfinder is available, its just a ridiculous price, currently running Version 2 issue 7. No doubt it will be ‘updated’ again shortly. :rolls:

Re: Error code A10 on Hotpoint FDW70P

Your Indesit 😥 dishwasher with Hotpoint’s name on the front is supposed to have a fill valve/ valve triac fault. These error codes are only a guide as to the possible area of the fault, anything from faulty components to bad connections can generate error codes. You do have a 5 year g/tee on the parts but the Indesit Company charge almost £90.00 for a call out. Difficult to second guess whether a local independant may be a better proposition. Try the link below if you decide to go down that route. Plug out at all times if you decide to have a look yourself.

The module is not over expensive so have a word with a local man/woman they would almost certainly be cheaper than Indesit.
