All you can do is check the obvious, both elements, stats, wiring connections for breaks, condensor & heater box for blockages, dryer timer etc, any one or a combination of those could be the cause.

    Suck it and see, ๐Ÿ˜†

    Well done that man. ๐Ÿ˜€

Had a call about four months ago to one of these, complaint of circuit breaker tripping. Went through it with a fine toothed comb, ( or so I thought ๐Ÿ˜ณ ) couldn’t find a thing. Just been back this afternoon, it has just started doing it again. Once again went through all the usual suspects, nothing. Then I remembered this post and sure enough the blue wire to the dryer side had chafed through against the motor plug mounting bracket, close to the small cable tie, barely visible and the first time I have seen one go through at this spot. 8)

    Thanks johnnyj.

Re: Broken Knob/handle On A Ariston Margherita 2000

If you can give us the correct model number we can be more precise as there are different door locks on some models. You may have to look on the back for the label to give you the correct number. The door handle kit is not that expensive and is prone to failure, especially if you don’t wait until it has unlocked. ๐Ÿ˜ฅ It is quite tricky to refit though. Sometimes it is possible to remove the mains plug then take off the top of the machine and reach down inside to release by pushing the small latch with your finger, sometimes you can get hold of the small latch with long nosed pliars from the front to get it open.

Do not forget to remove from the power at all times when working on the machine.

NB. There is a possiblity that your model numbers may not coincide with the parts identification software in the UK, I am guessing that you are in Norway. ๐Ÿ˜‰

26mm rear seal is a 1703078. Must not be used on the later drum that johhnyj mentions. That one needs a 16mm seal, 1703659.

Unplug the machine, if it is still full of water then you may have to follow the instructions above to drain out the water. Door should unlock when power is removed unless the door lock itself has jammed.

Complete new control PCB is around ยฃ50.00 + vat, difficult decision really unless you are confident of correctly & safely replacing yourself, then its an easy decision. ๐Ÿ˜‰

We can supply the parts if required, please remove mains plug if you intend to proceed.

BTW. Its an Indesit really. ๐Ÿ˜ฅ

PS. First I have heard of Hotpoint doing a postal eeprom reprogramme. โ“

There is a stat in the door frame that can cause this, also the timer in the base will stop the machine heating if faulty.

    Re: Water Inlet Hose Question?

You may get away with it if it is that far from the wall. I have not seen any hoses like that, that is not to say that there aren’t any. You could also use a coupling to join two hoses together.

    Re: Water Inlet Hose Question?

The only correct solution is to alter the inlet tap. The angled end is designed to fit on the back of the washer without kinking, unless you make sure that your machine is not pushed back against the wall the straight connection will eventually kink at that end, it can also put unnecessary strain on the fill valve it is screwed onto. Even if you leave your machine 5 or 6 inches away from the rear wall the hose is likely to kink over time.

    Re: Hotpoint WD860 Transit Bolts

Those are the correct bolts, however I would suggest running the machine without clothes on a rinse & spin cycle, after you have removed them and check for any leaks etc. Using the machine with these bolts in place can do severe damage to the nylon outer drum.
