You should avoid taking a dryer vent up and out if at all possible, even for a short distance, also three or four metres would be about the limit of the dryer fans powers. If you go up from the dryer any distance then under certain conditions the inside of the vent hose will fill with condensation and drain back into the dryer. I had a customer with a dryer stacked on top of a washer, the vent hose went up into the loft. In winter, the condensation ran back into the dryer, seeped into the washer and ruined a £90.00 control unit. 😯
I have seen people use those condensation boxes, when asked most were not impressed by the performance, but I have not tried one myself.
I would see if it works first or is economically repairable, if not look for a condensor dryer.

ModeratorRe: Ariston AIB16UK module connections?
You are of course correct Martin, went this afternoon. I think he was trying to put them on the correct contacts on the module but the wrong way round. Actual fault turned out to be a small pinhole, worn in the pressure hose. :rolls: 😯 8)

Thanks for letting us know the outcome, it all helps us and others to share your experiences. The advice on detergent use and temperatures is still sound.
If the noise returns, get it sorted ASAP as it is not unknown for the mounting lugs to rip off the outer drum.

The Over Zealous Tax Inspector
At the end of the tax year, the Tax Office sent an inspector to Audit
The Books of a Synagogue. While he was checking the books he turned to the
Rabbi and said,
“I notice you buy a lot of candles. What do you do with the candle drippings?”
“Good question,” noted the Rabbi. “We save them up and send them back to
the candle makers, and every now and then they send us a free box of
candles.”
“Oh,” replied the auditor, somewhat disappointed that his unusual question
had a practical answer. But on he went, in his obnoxious way:
“What about all these bread-wafer purchases? What do you do with the crumbs?”
“Ah, yes,” replied the Rabbi, realising that the inspector was trying
to trap him with an unanswerable question. “We collect them and send them
back to the manufacturers, and every now and then they send us a free box
of bread – wafers.”
“I see,” replied the auditor, thinking hard about how he could fluster
the know – it – all Rabbi. “Well, Rabbi,” he went on, “what do you do with
all the leftover foreskins from the circumcisions you perform?”
Here, too, we do not waste,” answered the Rabbi. “What we do is save
all the foreskins and send them to the Tax office, and about once a year they send us a complete prick.”iadom

Sorry but I have to strongly disagree with that statement. moulded tubs are a production cost saving that will inevitably lead to a huge increase in BER’s.
As an example, I have a customer with a recent Hotpoint Washer/Dryer with the Indesit heater box on top. It is still under g/tee and yet in the past six months I have been to this machine twice to remove the drum and split it in half to remove, first a 20p coin that was wedged in the drum support, second to remove a large teardrop earring, also fast behind the drum.
They called me because the didn’t want to pay Hotpoint’s labour charge, had this machine had a sealed drum it would have been close BER twice in two months with cost of the drum over £132.00 before labour 😥Jim.

Thanks for making that clear, I think. 😀
Much appreciated.

Thanks for that info SDR, absolutely no mention of two stats on the latest, trade version of Partfinder that I can see, no mention of it in manual 5412719 either. 😥
Jim.
EDIT, just seen your last post. Partfinder still lists two different, 3 stat kits. One before date code 51130, 28/11/05 as a 1603607 and after that date a 1603608. Now I am confused. 😕 😥

Strange, whilst posting a link to Indesit PDF’s I noticed a link to SMEGTECH in the public forums, lost yer manual thread.
Being an inquisitive soul, I clicked the link, entered DI411 and it instantly recognised it and offered me the user manual. ❓
I have a PDF copy of Smeg 007_Dishwasher 60CM 2001GB.doc tech info, is this near enough or is there a PDF for a DI411 out there somewhere. 😀

ModeratorRe: pdfs for indesit
Somehow don’t think engineers are likely to have many copies of user manuals, however if you follow this link and look up the ‘Current Indesit’ part of the post you can access most of the recent production including some of the ones you mention.

ModeratorRe: Indesit w161 programmer
You have a machine with notoriously unreliable control electronics.
The first thing you need to do is wait until the control knob starts clicking round, then count the number of times the mains neon flashes between pauses as the knob rotates. This is an error code which may give us some idea of your problem, apart from owning an Indesit that is. 😥Jim.
