    Re: Football

Anyone watching the England v Germany U21 game, England one up from the home game last week. One German sent off in first ten minutes half of the England side on yellow cards before half time, Germans missed a penalty, exciting stuff. 🙂

Cheers Greg, poxy quality rubber don’t you think. Reminds me of the second incarnation of Hotpoint dishwasher over 30 years ago, after the dreadful small Italian job that cost less than its own circulation pump. GEC bought a French company called Lincoln, possibly from Thompson and introduced a model of their dishwasher as a Hotpoint. It was built like a tank, ultra reliable in every way save for the fact that all the plastic fittings, filters, plugs etc used to melt like chocolate in a heatwave. Then came the Bosch produced 840/50/60/70 and all was well with the world. 8) 😀

He has got some neck has Mr Millar, anyone just seen Watchdog, he even admitted on camera that he was running the company, although he is under threat of returning to prison if he is involved with the business. 😯

Greg, there are two bungs in the roof of this machine, one a large two inch diameter one, offset to the right and a small 10p sized one that is dead centre of the roof. That one is still in place but is also breaking down. I wanted to replace both to save another visit in the near future.

    Re: IGNIS D/W

Anybody know the part number of the small central bung.?

I have had a look at the picture on MP of the part number gegsy has given, that looks like the large bung, don’t know where the centre of it has gone, all I have is a white crumbly ring, and I don’t want any salacious comments about that if you don’t mind. 😆

I have had at least three, all with exactly the same sticking relay fault, phoned both and they didn’t want to tackle them.

We have absolutely no way of knowing just what your capabilities are. Electricity is a silent, oudourless killer.
It can and does offend the odd individual when we advise them to seek help, but if we read in the press or saw on TV that someone had burned their house down or killed themselves as a result of advice given on this forum it would not look very professional and would also leave us open to litigation.

The first two posts tried to answer your query or at least point you in the right direction.

Your subsequent question quite understandably raised Martin’s concerns, his advice was not only for your benefit but for anyone else reading this thread.

    Re: Indesit WDG1925WG motor stopped

It is not advisable or sensible to ‘live’ test your machine. The condition of the motor continuity and resistance can be checked with a simple multimeter, with the mains isolated. Faults in the electronic module can also prevent the motor from running.

PS. I think you have given the wrong model number, is it a WDG1295WG ?

I will just have to have a look when I go, doing the dryer as well so it won’t be a wasted journey, now all I need is a reply to the Ignis D/W question in the Trade Spares and I will be sorted. 8)

    Re: IGNIS D/W

Just been to have a look at this. I have in my hand what appears to be the remnants of a seal, white, crumbly rubber, approx 2 inches in diameter, it looks as though something should be fitted inside this, there is a large hole in the roof of the inner cabinet, offset to the right of centre.

There is also a much smaller bung of the same material, situated dead centre of the roof. That is also breaking up.

    Service No: is 096932. Data 096922 ( I think ) i was using a mirror to see it. 🙂

It looks like I need the small central bung and whatever fits in the larger hole in the roof as well.

OK, model number of this Caple D/W is Di411, so is it a Smeg?

Customer complains of no heat and E3 in display which is a Smeg no heat code.

    Re: Hotpoint wf220

Have you checked that the buttons are actually operating the small switches on the control module, very flimsy buttons, often come loose, sometimes the module itself can come adrift preventing the switches from functioning.
