    Re: Hotpoint WD420 not starting

TBH if a customer rang me and told me the machine had been tipped upside down I would sigh heavily and put the phone down. 🙁

AFAIK there are no surplus wiring plugs to the main pcb??

H20 is ‘supposed’ to be no, or very poor water supply.

Can be taps turned off, faulty fill valve, poor water pressure, small filter to the valve clogged, not draining correctly due to partial pump filter blockage or just because it is an Indesit with iffy electronics. 🙁

Re: Indesit W/M IWD5123 not going into drain cycle

F01 error is not good, that is a motor/pcb problem, nothing to do with the drain cycle.
If you have the correct electrical test equipment you can check the drain pump for continuity/resistance. Do the copper windings of the pump appear burnt or charred in any way?

If it is not the pump that is at fault and there is no blockage of any kind then the main pcb is the likely culprit, very expensive and needs programming. 🙁

Re: Whirlpool to do a recall on Hotpoint dryers

I even had one customer who when asked said he knew about the ‘stuff in the papers’ but couldn’t be arsed about it, said he would try and find time to check his machine even though I told him it was 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} one of the ‘recall’ machines. 🙁

Supposed to show if you are trying to select an incorrect programme.

And the dryer doesn’t look to have BLOWN UP.

    Still an awful mess. 🙁

    Moved to correct forum.

Not sure about this model but there is a resistor failure on the control unit that is a well known failure point on Whirlpool machines.

If you read through the ‘Simple pcb repairs’ thread you will find info on it.

    Re: Hotpoint Futura hf8b593

If you have lights 2 and 5 from bottom up lit then that is error code F18 which is a communications error, could just be loose connections between the circuit boards or main power board failure. 🙁

    Re: Hotpoint Futura hf8b593

I am playing squash shortly so can’t check right now but you haven’t read my last post fully. The bottom five vertical lights are used and you count from BOTTOM up so end is light 2, the very top light is not used.

Try it again and see if any of the right hand vertical lights are on steady.

    Re: Hotpoint Futura hf8b593

Are you certain that ALL of the lights are flashing?

Error codes on these are given by flashing all of the horizontal lights and keeping a combination of the right hand vertical lights steady without flashing. The bottom five lights are used including the door locked light and are numbered 1 to 5 from BOTTOM to TOP.
