I think I will make that my ‘Word Of The Week’ 😆
I had a very similar fault on one of these last week, turned out ot be a dodgy/loose wall socket.

I still find it hard to believe that the paternal grandparents of Phil and Gary Neville called their son ………..Neville. 😆
Cue David Bowie song. 😉

Well the new flap valve was to cure a problem with the valve sticking intermittantly. It is certainly a better seal with the later all rubber sump as opposed to the plastic one with the thin rubber strip round the inside, they leak quite often. not sure of the actual reason ❓

Been like that for a while Bryan, had a small hole in a sump hose almost 3 years ago, had to fit the kit.

Got to be a bad plan – educate the customer.
not so much a customer, more the wife of an old colleague/friend.
Agree totally on trying to adjust pressure switches though. Unless it is a Hotpoint top loader. 😉

Timer still available, now around £200. 😥
The pressure switch does appear to be functioning correctly.
You do seem to have an unusual fault but the engineer who has seen it all has not been born yet. 🙂

It is very difficult to go into any great detail, two different timers, different pressure switches etc. all tech info is copyright and is of limited availability even to the trade.

Hi Mark, try a Google for Richard Hearne. 😆 I missed the last ‘e’ off in my first post.

He has just retired and moved north of the border, however she is a very imposing woman, not to be trifled with. 🙂

Doubt very much that there is a fault Bob, I suspect the user 😉 rather than the person who posed the question to me will have to adapt to the greatly reduced water levels and if needs be adjust the detergent dosage to allow for this.

The old type pressure switches are adjustable, although this is not advisable, just wondered if this machine has the same later type of pressure switch as the ISE ?

Working for Hotpoint in the Ashton area in the dim and very distant past, I had two calls in the same day for a Mrs Blood & Mrs Bone. 🙂
Slightly OT, there was a local school headmaster called Wright Platt, and a recently retired dentist called Perkins Pong, I kid you not. 😆
