Re: Indesit Washer-Dryer WDN 1079 WG – help with drying feat

Another thought, is one of those buttons for half/full load. These machines can wash a full load but only wash and dry a half load. If it has one try it with the half load button selected.

Sadly that picture is so small it’s impossible to make out any of the buttons. 🙁

I just have it in the back of my mind that one of those push buttons has to be selected but I could be mistaken.

Of to watch Man Utd shortly, hopefully if you can post a clearer, bigger pic then some else may be able to see it before I get back later.

Hmm, looking at the parts lists that looks like quite an old model, there isn’t even a manual for that on the Indesit web site, also lots of parts are obsolete for that machine.

Can you post up a clear picture of the control panel, we may be able to hazard a wild guess. 🙂

Not sure if the fast/slow spin button has to be in a certain position for dryer to work?????

A rather vague description ‘a home appliance’ unless this said appliance has to be directly concerned with Coca Cola products. ❓

?? That is not an error code, the error codes on this machine are ALL the horizontal lights flashing and a combination of the bottom five, right hand vertical lights on steady.

Is the machine draining normally now?

Not if there is a valve to prevent that. 😉

Supposed to be a heater relay fault, could be intermittent but the dryer ntc’s on these do throw up a few strange errors as well.

What I want to know is what happens if you go to a machine that evidently has belt wear or something similar,do you do the mod and leave the rest ? in which case how can you sign it off as working to spec,or do you cover yourself by putting on the paperwork that the mod is untested ?

According to earlier information they are not supposed to touch existing faults but report them back and not do the mod.

So many questions, are these all ‘new’ engineers, if so are they franchised or full company staff, have they all had new vehicles, tool kit, test equipment etc provided? Are they on short term contracts or long term with full employment rights?

Or are most of them current indies who are subbing?

Only half of the problem, more likely to be pre existing faults not spotted, ignored or even new faults caused by the 350 ‘instant engineers’ they have found from somewhere. 😉

Re: Whirlpool to do a recall on Hotpoint dryers

They had a really daft item on ITV this morning, a fireman stood outside with an Indesit dryer that had been running for some time. He demonstrated how to use a fire extinguisher . :rolls:
