    Re: One off opportunity.

Update, several machines to look at, all in the greater London area, nothing now going to be on camera.

Not to mention the hours he has also spent trying to put four screws back into the hinges, and he claims to have an engineering background. :rolls:

The wire sits in a thin groove in the door seal lip, it is not behind it. It is very tight but a thin bladed screwdriver is all it takes.

You do know that there are two different pressure switches which ate not interchangeable. 😉

Nothing personal AFAIK, I am a long time member (2003) of Cableforum, did beta testing on their STB’s for many years, also a member of VM’s own forums so I was well up to speed but I do know of at least one person who filled out the form requesting details. 😥

She was given the production/sale dates and even the exact model numbers of the suspect Proline models. 😉

Re: Whirlpool to do a recall on Hotpoint dryers

The problems became much worse when certain alterations to the overall design changed.
My TL61 does not suffer from these problems although I will admit the filter is removed and cleaned before the last load is removed from the drum.
The introduction of the much larger aperture on the front of the drum, and the ineffective, thin felt front seal was the start of the problem. Then a reduction in the rigidity of the cabinet and the introduction of the stupidly tight belt all lead to the drum seals being easily compromised. Whilst I agree that poor user maintenance is a major contributory factor the bottom line is the machine is riddled with poor quality components and design.
As has already been mentioned the rear bearing has not been altered with the mod and when, not if that fails the pop rivet stuck through the drum is going to rip the rear seal to shreds. :rolls:

It is a very thin wire on these.

Dryers featuring once again this morning although Alice Beer got the details of the Proline dryers wrong, she said sold from 2004 to 2005. from what I can recall they sold for several years right up until Comet failed.
Now an MP is getting involved, questions in the house to follow?

    ERROR CODES

On most faults when the machine goes into error mode it runs the drain pump.

Main circulation pump, part No: C00256525 around £93.00. Difficulty depends upon your own skill levels, not over difficult.

Re: Door hinge problem on Hotpoint

Getting it un lipped is easy, getting the wire retaining band back on afterwards is not.

I would try with just the top off to start with.

Loosen or remove the screws from the top hinge and try and secure the bottom one first.
It is normally a very easy job to do but I will admit I did have one a while back that was very awkward.
