    Steve hi

It is a straight swap, no programming necessary job. However there are two different main pcb’s

EBR62175303 is used from serial number 008KW

EBR65873626 is used up to that date.

    Re: Baumatic BWD1212

    Chris hi

I have emailed the exploded views and parts listing to you separately. You will need to determine what is needed of course. Below is a guide based on the inner drum shaft and bearings only.

Its a good hour 1/2 to 2 hours work I am afraid.

Inner drum spider, oil seal and both bearings from Baumatic are going to be circa £70.00 trade plus vat and delivery. That is the price to us as a Tier 1 authorised agent. Checking this morning they don’t have the drum spider (because they don’t do drum (or anything connected to it) changes. They simply exchange the machine. If I ordered it as a special order, it would be 16-20 weeks quite literally on the slow boat from China.

We are also a Haier main agent. They have the parts in stock this morning although it is low stock on the inner drum spider (as in only 1) but the price doubles for circa £140.00 for the parts.

The unit should have come with a 2 year parts warranty and a 5 year labour (assuming the customer correctly registered it at the point of purchase) with Baumatic. What is the date of purchase? Given that Baumatic wouldn’t repair it, it would be exchanged, and knowing them they way we do, they are unlikely to be sympathetic I am afraid. 🙁

We had a customer whom was 10 years out of its warranty and they point blank refused to do anything for the customer at all.

    Baumatic BWD1212

    Chris hi

Baumatic do not do drum / tub / bearing changes which gives you an idea of the problems they cause!

The unit is actually a Haier produced unit so spares will be expensive and in short supply but if you need them I can get them.

If you need either Baumatic or Haier technical on it I can send it to you tomorrow.

    Best wishes

I emailed Martin and advised him not to rise to the bait which he has agreed to.

No idea why he wishes to bait Martin but it is clearly the case. Anyone know if they actually know each other of is it just because of the thread I interjected on?

I purposely haven’t gotten involved in the latest threads as they aren’t too offensive and as Ken says, sometimes Martin just opens the door and welcomes you to comment.

    Benefits of joining tradeplace?

iirc you won’t get anything unless you already have accounts with the manufacturers concerned.

Part of the sign up procedure will i think, ask you to input your account codes for each manufacturer which are then checked and if valid you get access.

I found it a waste of time and obtained access via the manufacturer direct.

    Best wishes

    Tim hi

Yes I understand, but the law of the land is caveat emptor, so it is the customers responsibility to ensure they understand what, exactly, they are getting themselves into.

We, for example, do not charge a call out fee, we, like the company you refer to, charge an inspection/labour charge for all visits. This fee is fixed at the outset so the customer is fully aware of the charge to be levied.

We go to the effort of explaining this to the customer but that is only because we wish to be open and transparent.

On the other shoe, how many customers use the free call out scenario to book multiple engineers out to the unit to either find the cheapest solution/repairer or worst still to confirm a diagnosis do they can undertake the repair themselves.

It’s not ethical and to be frank somewhat annoying I can imagine but it’s not illegal and nor are the practises of the company to which you originally refer.

If everyone were compelled by law to work ethically then most manufacturers, insurers and work providers would be totally buggered and most likely bust.

Still hasn’t signed for his recorded delivery letter I see, do ya get the feeling he’s avoiding official looking docs?

Being serious, the constitution states he can appeal a refusal of membership within 14 days, that is from the date the letter is sent NOT the day received.

Usually recorded delivery letter which cannot be delivered are returned to sender. If this occurs, DO NOT open it on its return BUT do keep it safe please.

Just wondering if we can get this thread to have more pages than the infamous 0800 thread?

    I don’t understand your question.

They cannot charge a call out charge if they say no call out charge.

They are saying they charge a labour fee for inspecting (if BER) or repairing the unit, which is perfectly acceptable and legal.

Just because you think it’s something else doesn’t make it wrong I am afraid.

    Vestel made USUALLY,

I will need the full serial number to confirm, if you can PM it to me along with your email address I will check for you.

If it is Vestel, I will be able to supply parts if needed.
