Model number is incorrect unfortunately.
I am a main service dealer for them if you get stuck with parts but I need the correct model number to assist.
Also, when you ask they term the doors parts as follows:-
Freezer section is F Something
Fridge section is R something.for example, the door seal for the fridge door will be called
Gasket R Side
or for freezer
Gasket F side
I hope that helps

Ken
You have my total and utter support for whatever you do here.
We receive a good supply of calls from this facility (enough to almost employ a dedicated engineer) so anything you do to increase it is fine by us.
Lets do it to them before they do it to us
Keep up the good work 😆 😆

I’ve handled a couple of hundred jobs for them.
Never had a payment problem and rates are fair.
The trick to them is to use their on-line system and keep on top of it. We do have minor hiccups every so often but a phone call or email tends to sort it out. You can use your own methods of call tracking and invoicing with paper, but that can cause issues at their end.
I would recommend a trial so you can see if it works for you but dont expect great volumes or communications from them.

GBDAR are the repair agents so i suppose spares can be obtained through them.

ParticipantRe: Staggering Really
Ken hi
Tell me all about it.
Just after the MG Rover break up, I had the opportunity to take on some extra work giving around about 40-60 jobs a week and paying around £55.00 + VAT for the completion. Problem was some of the work was on refrigeration products which my guys dont currently do.
So i thinks to me self, why not ask the the big cheeses at the government and local business link to find me an ex rover worker willing to be retrained to work on refrigeration products.
Guess what, not only were then not willing to meet me anywhere on the costs issue, but they actually said they couldn’t help me find someone as they were only paid to find groups of jobs.
Needless to say, the task forces set up to find these poor souls work were taking their cut for sitting on their backsides for nothing. It really made my blood boil.
Well eventually, we walked away from the deal cussing that you just carn’t give a job away.
Three months later, I gets a call from the same people asking me to interview a lady for a call centre job I had advertised. I agreed and on the day of the interview, the polish lady turned up complete with her interpreter as she didnt speak a word of english. What bloody use was that for a call centre.
On speaking to the task force people again and in no uncertain terms informing them not to waste my fu….g time (sorry) again, they only go and tell me I can receive a grant for taking her on and get additional grants for the time she would be away learning english.
Ken your right. I’m no racist or anything but it seems to me at times that good old hard working nationals of this country get a discriminated against compared to some of these immigrants coming to this country.
I was always taught to look after your own first, it seems the powers that be didnt get them message.
Rant over and thanks for allowing me to get if off my chest.

ParticipantRe: refunds
The Sale of Goods Act states must be fit for the purpose and of merchantable quality
and this includes all goods if sold by a merchant or trader, the law makes no difference as to the quality of the type of goods i.e. secondhand or new.
as the customers confirm no fault, they have no recourse back to you unless you increased the customers statutory rights by offering some ADDITIONAL guarantee of something like;
“Complete money back if not completely satisfied within 14 days.”
You try doing the same thing in Currys or Comet with a brand new appliance and see have far you get.
One word of warning however, new laws came into effect in Feb 05 which state the onus is on the retailer to prove the items are NOT faulty during the first six months after initial sale, thereafter, it is up to the purchaser to confirm the fault exists.
Tell your customers to do one, your safe.
Regards and festive best wishes

ParticipantRe: Connect & LG
Whilst on a visit to LG accounts today chasing my own payment, I overheard a conversation between two LG accounts people that said LG were not paying Connect this month for their invoices.
Beware CDSL agents, looks like further trouble for CDSL on this contract.
Also heard a few weeks ago the LG were looking to move the white goods to another WP. Even heard that GBDAR refused it due to payment problems. Now thats gotta be a first. 😀 😀
Have a good weekend all!!

ParticipantRe: A Radical Thought
I.ve been read this with interest and Im in total agreement with Alex.
Ken said earlier in the thread about an email address of xxx@ukwhitegoods.co.uk or whatever. This I think is a good idea for us to communicate with and what about also adding the skype facility.
Perhaps UKW could supply the subscribers with the necessary kit (a decent VoIP phone) and suitable training on the use of skype and we could all communicate easier with each other. We all benefit without affecting the site and the 550 or so non subscribers.
Just a thought

ParticipantRe: Can anyone repair Gas appliances as long as they don’t..
Some years ago we fitted a spark generator box onto a gas hob for Candy. We did not break or get into the gas supply at all as all the work could be undertaken by removing the electric cooker underneath.
A few weeks later we did the same thing in Oxford.
We were taken to task on one of our inspections by the CORGI inspector covering Oxford as he said we should not be working on any gas appliance irrespective of the repair. However when we spoke to our inspector in Liverpool he said as long as we did not break into the gas supply or bits we were fine.
Two different answers from the same regulatory body. Shortly afterwards, my boss pulled the plug on gas work as we could work under these circumstances and needed to protect our employees.
Its one of those difficult areas. Imagine this scenario. If your customer accidentally smashes the outer door glass of her gas cooker, are we seriously saying we need a CORGI registered engineer to fit a replacement?
