Oh Dear That’s Odd , When A Compressor Fails In A Number Of Ways
It Should Not Be So Noisy That You Feel Its Unsafe, Ok On The Industrial
& Commercial Compressors These Can Be Deafening ! When Faulty
There Is Only A Compressor & A Diverter v/v (normally a Danfoss compressor) my email: coolliving@hotmail.co.uk ,johnjohnthefridge
ParticipantRe: Candy fridge/freezer fridge is freezing
I Remember The Modification Well ! The Thermistor Failed & Then The Back Wall On The Fridge Froze Over (Compressor Running Continuously)I Am Pretty Sure The 1st Ones Started To Fail Back In 1994-1998 , So I Decided To Draw A Diagram For All The Candy Engineers To Carry Out The Repair (As So Many Of These Were Deemed BER) I Will Look Through My Technical Drawings & Find Out . . . . Looking From The Back Its Top Left Cut Out With A Stanley Knife A Small Rectangle Flap & The Sensor Fits Into A Small Cove (Tunnel)Then insulate with a small amount of polystyrene foam Will Dig Out My Drawing With Exact Dimensions (I hope) john

Hi Aidan, As Soon As You Switch On (All Doors closed)) Make A Mental Note Of All Sounds Etc,
Immediately Go To The Rear Bottom Carefully Listen To The Compressor,
Is There A Continuous Hum Without Any Switching’s / Clicking’s Etc ,
Approx 15mins Run Your Hand slowly Around The Black Grill (Be Careful)
ANY WARMTH & WHERE !. . . . After Recording All Symptoms / Notes etc ,
Leave it On & Running For 24hrs . . temp settings + 5c fridge & – 18c freezer , let me know how you get on , johnjohnthefridge
ParticipantRe: Liebherr fridge freezer 3013
Hi lefthooker , yes all of the above advise from the engineers need to be checked ,ok…. is the freezer evap coil in your opinion iced / frosted over evenly , ?
Thermistor approx. readings + 20c = 6kohm / + 10c = 9k / 0c = 15k / -20c = 45k, in the past I have known the evap fan motor take up to 30mins +to fire up , cheers johnjohnthefridge
ParticipantRe: Bosch KGU3201 stopped working
Hi Aidan, Just Having A Look & Noticed Your Mail, Well Once Upon A Time These KG3201 Were Bullet Proof Around About Mid 90s + , . . .
Very Well Made , ….. right there are a few checks to carry out before I can instruct you with the parameter settings etc (by pressing certain top buttons) A: what sounds can you hear if any B: Opening the freezer door looking quickly at the fan housing impellor any movement C: Did the Bosch cooling slowly deteriorate or was it over a few weeks / days
let us know & hopefully I can diagnose the fault,

ParticipantRe: Samsung RL41WGTB, not cooling
Sorry About The Delay , Ive Been Working Late (as usual)
It does sound like you have laid the cabinet on the wrong side !
The symptoms would be as follows : (switching on immediately is not good) A: Compressor etc would run as normal , but continuously with poor or no cooling ,B: There would of not been no buzzing / clicking etc just a nice quiet harm as long as you didn’t switch off & on several times as this would create the klixon (Thermal) to trip, once again the compressor could well be seized & quite possibly no capillary restriction’s or blockages , BER stands for “beyond economical repair” . . . good luck johnjohnthefridge
ParticipantRe: Samsung RL41WGTB, not cooling
Hi, I Was Just Looking Through All The Advise / Comments & In Reality All Are Correct ! Out Of Interest When You Laid Down The F/F Can You Remember What Side It Was – Hinged Or Other Side Presuming The Fridge Opens From Left To Right (Hinged On Right). . . . Nevertheless Any Appliance Can Be Repaired (yes with a cost) r600a Compressor £68-78 approx. – Filter Drier & Sundries £25.00 – Labours @ 2-3 hrs max , cleaning system O.F.N. (If there is a blockage)Extra 1 hour .
“I know I should be retired by now” hands on engineer from 1974,
I can honestly say very rarely I have had to write off an appliance –
Unfortunately Companies have this magic word & its called B.E.R !
If I Can Be Of Any Further Assistance By All Means Mail Me ,

ParticipantRe: Liebherr Freezer Problem
Yes r600a it could be a sensor fault on other Liebherr models , but not on this one , this model has the good old fashioned type capillary with a diaphragm / bellows , & both compartments fridge & freezer are statically cooled !. . . . . jm

ParticipantRe: Liebherr Freezer Problem
Hi Ian , Thanks Getting Back To Me, Ok. . . . The Refrigeration Circuit Could Be Restricted Or Refrigerant (Gas Shortage R600a) Microscopic Leak, Unfortunately I Am Not In Your Area, Liebherr Head Office Will Help You With A Local Authorized Refrigeration Engineer,
These appliances are excellent quality so I would contact Liebherr Uk & explain , if I can be of any other help, or you would like to explain further symptoms just mail me . johnjohnthefridge

Hi Ian , If The Top Fridge Section Has Frozen The Produce & You Have Noticed Also That The Freezer Is Not Reaching -18c, It Could Be Several Items To Check , 1st is the frost even on the back wall fridge section, 2nd can you hear the compressor running continuously , 3rd If the refrigerant (Gas) has started to leak / Block ! these are the classic symptoms , When You Get Back To Me I Will Be Able To Diagnose What Component Has Failed , (This Appliance Is A Simple One Circuit Refrigerant Flowing From The Fresh Food Cabinet & Then Into The Freezer Compartment)john
