most common problem with these are sensor failure, this is located in the insulation at back of fridge area. access is only by cutting away insulation. sensor is £11 if memory serves me right. check out video on youtube, beko sensor repair

ParticipantRe: BEKO CDA556FW – Need advice. Fridge is freezing
common problem with sensor in back of fridge under insulation, cost of sensor £9,time to replace 30-45 mins, you need to cut insulation on back of fridge compartment to get to sensor. either replace with kigspan or expanda foam to replace insulation both work well.
I have a video to help if you send me your email address

ParticipantRe: Fridge/freezer getting old?
last one I had like this was I need of cleaning the air intake out at the bottom of the unit,
it was full of dust pet hairs etc that had gathered over the years and I ended up moving it outside and putting a airline on it! it worked great after that. The dust smothered the intercooler behind the vent.October 20, 2014 at 5:50 pm in reply to: Beko CDA648FS/1 Frost Free Fridge Freezer-Fridge is Frozen. #409762jskelton555

I replaced mine along with quite a few others on here, used kingspan to replace cut insulation and its been fine ever since. nothing to lose by trying it.

if you replaced it with the correct thermostat this is what turns the compressor off, You have freezing so gas is OK and motor OK, its just control issue. The universal type stat are a pain to set correctly.

just replaced my fridge sensor on Beko CDA648 F/F. Not a hard job- cut insulation away a bit at a time, sensor is 50mm + deep so there is a fair bit to cut out. sensor sits in a tube on back wall. mine was 220mm down from top and 200mm from left side. i poked another hole to PCB board and soldered connections back on. finally I put a carefully sized piece of kingspan insulation in the neat rectangular hole I cut in back. Hole was 60mm deep 100mm wide.
all is now fine
hope this helps

If I turn the fridge off and back on the fan runs for a few seconds then goes off, It stays off then for a while but when it switches back on it continues to run continually, until I switch off again and restart the process. Its a though when it turns on it sticks on?? hence the freezing fridge problem. Any ideas apart from fridge sensor- would that cause this or would it run continuously as soon as turned on?
