    Good.

After 20 years the AEG TD didn’t owe us anything.

Re: ISE appliances – some thoughts

Hander. If you buy an ISE now you’re an early adopter and that requires a slightly different mindset to a Joe or Josephine Consumer who is happy to shop at Currys for a throwaway WM. A bit like the people who bought a VW Beetle when Detroit was churning out chrome plated behemoths. VW is still going strong: GM is bust.

My view is that (with the viral nature of word of mouth on the internet – and without it there could never be an ISE) in five years time ISE will be well established as the smart consumers’ choice.

And no I have no connexion with the company I just have to take my hat off to them.

Re: Best 60cm DW for a rental house

Thanks for the info. It’s a freestanding DW.

Re: Bosch, Siemens or Miele? “Best” buy.

The old DW was a Bosch (circa 1995) slimline and we want to reuse the slot.

We’re going for freestanding and as there are only two of us a slimline model is more than adequate.

It’s a pity the ISE DW was discontinued. 🙁

What a pallaver and unbelievably crude. I’m not convinced that the seal will be watertight.

Engineered by the Fray Bentos company :rolls:

    Re: Living with an ISE10

We’ve had an ISE10 for a couple of years. So quiet we occasionally have to check to make sure thing is running. 😆

Is replacing the dispenser a straightforward task?

    Re: Fabric conditioner

Martin, explain me this if you will.

Before we installled the device our kettle needed to be descaled on a regular basis; now it doesn’t. The same goes for our gas fired water heater and we don’t get limescale build up on our taps.

Either: I’m delusional and someone is sneaking into our house to do the descaling; Severn Trent has changed the water supply in Nottingham; or the device (for us) actually works.

    Re: Fabric conditioner

We’re going to give the vinegar idea a whirl.

It costs nothing to try and if we find that the end-result is satisfactory then that will be sufficient for us.

We’ve got one of those magnetic water conditioners on the cold water supply. I know that the science is meant to be utter hooey but, living in a very hard water area, we haven’t had to descale our kettles since installing the device.
