Bloody hell Dave, best wishes with that as that’s a bolt out the blue.

And yes, health first for sure.

But I do think Martin needs morphine, at times it’d perhaps help him more than much else. 😉

    Re: CDA oven fan motor?

Thing is Jim, you can’t tell what the hell they are all too often as they’re all redone cosmetically to look like a CDA styled one so, they pretty much all look alike.

Only way to know is to find some bits and figure it out.

But if like this one, you can’t find any to start with, you’re stuffed.

    Re: CDA oven fan motor?

That’s a good number but noting on it at all.

They did buy a bunch from Nardi though and when they went kaput so did all support from them but, it should have a 5 year part warranty on it from CDA.

That doesn’t appear to be a valid CDA model number Jim, no record of it anywhere including on Google.

The very point I was making.

Your version somewhat more condensed. 😉

    Re: Beko DIN26X20 Display

I had a quick look and about all I can think that might cause that is the board, possibly due to spillage on it especially so as you say it seems to be working okay.

It’s a bit of a punt of course but the board is this one:

    https://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/1739170 … ntrol-card

It’s nil stock UK and EU though with no fixed ETA presently.

And on the topic of the work being pulled this was highlighted to me today…

    https://www.thecourier.co.uk/fp/news/lo … -contract/

I think from what I’ve been hearing along with the that article that nobody is safe with DAG at the moment and I sure wouldn’t count on having any contract or work with them as “safe”.

    Re: Fridge Freezer temperamental!

Sounds as if the compressor is overheating and stalling out, no great shock given it’s at least 16 years old. 😉

And no, the light won’t affect it at all.

    Re: Gas tumble dryer

Those condenser units we don’t really sell because they’re not all that great to be honest and I put people off the idea.

They do work, sorta and catch moisture but nowhere even close to as efficiently as a condenser dryer will so you will still get moisture into the room. Depending where it is that may or may not be a problem.

It’s a solution if you’re really in a jam and have no other option but it sure wouldn’t be the first thing I’d suggest to anyone. And in some instances, they just don’t work.

    Re: Fridge never stops running

That’s way colder than it ought to be.

But given it’s a bog standard unit, nothing fancy you have is a stat in it so, that’s a mans switch that operates on temperature. It goes on, it goes off… it doesn’t do anything else at all.

That’s reading the fridge temperature only it doesn’t operate on the freezer at all so, I’d be still thinking it’s a compressor/refrigerant issue, probably compressor.

    Re: Gas tumble dryer

Gas and heat pump dryers are fine in terms of running costs if you do heaps and heaps of drying as in, virtually commercial levels of use.

If not, they’re a waste of time for most people given the huge additional costs to install and/or purchase let alone, as others have pointed out, the installation costs of gas and the fastidious care required for heat pump.

For most people, most of the time, they’re not worth the bother.

So in that environment especially, I’d avoid both like the plague.

It’s either a sensor or a compressor problem.

My money would be on the compressor from what you describe.

That’s not a stat issue I wouldn’t think or, it doesn’t sound like it anyway.

But yeah, that one will be fine on it.
