They are.
But if distributors muck it up that’s on them and fair enough.
But Samsung get my goat in many ways and there’s no way for anyone to check outside of agents and employees that the info given by distributors is right, wrong or indifferent as Samsung restrict access to that heavily and, that prevents anyone outside Samsung’s little bubble from checking much anything at all.
So where people get incorrect info and Samsung restrict access to correct info, that’s on Samsung and nobody else.

I wasn’t even talking about the distributor.
I was talking about the restrictive nature of Samsung in terms of information and supply.
That’s on Samsung, period.

LothianDomestics wrote:Are you really suggesting Samsung should troll the net for every single part they sell checking the information is correct on third party sites?
Not at all.
But the restricted information and limited channels that are available for Samsung parts are completely and wholly under Samsung’s control therefore, they’re the only people that can do anything to remedy that situation.

That’s all fine and please, I’m not having a pop at anyone other than Samsung’s policy on spare parts here but…
If only agents/employees can see this then it’s of little to no use to anyone else. This is Samsung’s policy and only they can address that.
If the distributors say things incorrectly, price incorrectly or don’t make the info available then, it’s down to Samsung to change that.
If the parts are overpriced through the appointed distribution channels then again, it’s up to Samsung to change that. Some of the part prices are just ludicrous.
All things considered this rolls back on Samsung and whenever I’m asked and, I get asked a lot on Samsung, my opinion of them is that they are pretty shambolic when it comes to parts and support outside their own little orbit, it’s slow, expensive and they obsolete stuff rather a lot quite early.
Then factor in the closed nature of service and that the machines are, in my opinion, somewhere around mediocre at best in terms of quality and performance and it’s hard to see any attraction to the brand much less anything to lead to a recommendation.

KeymasterRe: Proline Fridge/Freezer Help Please
You know, overload and klixons or PTC’s are there for a reason, safety. Bypassing safety devices is a very, very bad idea. 😉
In fact, sometimes plain downright dangerous.
It’s bog standard fridge freezer, thermostat controlled so the only possibility is that the compressor is pumping weak and, as I said in another thread last night, even though the freezer seems to be freezing and it’s getting below 0?C, it’s not getting down to temperature correctly as it should.
You see that in the fridge not cooling properly as there’s not enough refrigerant circulating to it fast enough.
So basically, it’s time to scrap it.

If it’s got a display it should show an error code.
If not, count the bleeps between the pauses.
But do try to hard reset ti, power off it totally then power it back up.

KeymasterRe: doors and water jets
Well, can’t speak to that as Samsung do not allow access to their information or spare parts directly to anyone other than Samsung agents so, far as I’m concerned that’s a closed shop.
And as such, of little use to anyone that’s not a Samsung agent or employee.

I don’t think you’ll get away with not pulling it out to do that in any event.

It is for sure nil stock right across the EU with all major distributors and one stockist does state: “No longer available from the original manufacturers
A request to get price and deliverytime is possibel nevertheless”Which isn’t a good sign.
And it’s £66 for a flamin’ door seal!!
Samsung, gotta love ’em… NOT!!

Sounds like it could be both that need to come off but often you’ll be able to get to it without lifting the hob, just depends how it’s spaced really.
