    Re: Corgi

Frankly, that’s not only devious IMO but also potentially seriously dangerous!

To train someone in the use of a manometer and a glob of common sense takes time and not everyone is CORGI material in such a short space of time. I’ve yet to meet an engineer that’s not capable, but capable coupled with confident and competetant is a whole other ball game.

I wonder what CORGI would think of it?

    Re: Smelly Bosch

    What detergent are you using?

Check along the bottom of the door for any dirt/grime there and if required give it a clean.

You can also try Finish dishwasher cleaner, works wonders. 😉

There is usually some water left in the bottom of the machines but I am not familiar with that model so I don’t know how much you should see there, Martin or Penguin may be able to answer that one.

Probably just the fan element that’s away. Some are an easy “from the front” fix and some you need to strip it out and do it from the rear. I can’t remember what way it is on the F232 but I think it’s from the front.

Dave on spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk does have the element required in stock.

Hope that helps and remember to take the power off it before working on any electrics!

    Re: Purchasing Direct

Without massive buying power the answer to the question is generally, no.

    Been there done that. 😕

You’d probably be ableto tell us better greaseater, but my info says that AIS are covering “wet” products on The Cookers, Homark and White Westinghouse as per the front page.

    Nope, I don’t think he’s a plant.

I’ll know it when I see it I reckon and this ain’t it.

If you look at his first post and then this one they are consistent with one another which could be a setup of course, but I don’t think so. He uses a Tiscalli mail address and is logged in through a Tiscalli account, BT has it’s own NS servers. 😉

    Re: A Word Of Thanks…

Thank guys, I’m glad you liked it.

Dave and Kevin also put a lot of work into this meeting and they should not be missed, especially Dave who booked all the rooms and organised all that side of the meetings. Kevin of course we’d have to gag to shut him up!

But no, it was excellent and I thoroughly enjoyed it all and, whilst I may jest about it, as much “business” was done at the bar as it was during the day. Of course Alex is correct, whilst it was not a p**s up it was far more relaxed and all the more enjoyable for it in the evening. But then we’ve always been about being more relaxed on many topics.

There is a delay in the minutes I’m afraid as, after a call earlier from Dave this evening (like an hour or so ago), there’s just so much to type up! There is a slew of information to get on there in a format that people that were unable to attend will understand what went off and some of the ideas that were floated can be understood as it’s a lot to take in frankly, They will be up soon and the “training” presentation I will make available for download along with them but we all have to get some sleep you know. Plus Dave, Kev and I have been hard at work on a few projects over the past few weeks, to the extent I worry that the kids won’t recognise me anymore! 😆

    Re: Repairs@ Module

To answer the “top of the list” bit…

No, it doesn’t quite work like that. What it will do is “weight” the response towards subscribers and then fairly distribute amongst multiple subscibers that share any postcodes.

If you can imagine that say there’s two people in the area now, then each has a 50/50 chance of getting the call as it’s pretty random. If one was a subscriber he’s got a 75{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} chance at it and the non-subsciber is left with only a 25{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} chance.

What this does not take into account is factoring in the fact that there may well be no brand or product type crossover. The database design gets pretty complex from here on in, suffice to say that the subscribers don’t have exclusivity on the work but they do have a far higher chance of recieving it.

I haven’t uploaded it here as it’s a 1Mb file and we’re kinda short on space for now so I have to cool it for a few weeks. 🙁

Anyway, I apologise in advance before you see it Chris.

    Hi Barny,

It should be easy enough to get that for you and I don’t think it should be too expensive either. If you mail spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk Dave should be able to investigate it for you.

You may not get a reply till Monday now as we have our meeting over Friday and Saturday, but it will get seen to.

    Cornflakes,

That’s an easy one that is…

79X3585, price code G2 and it’s in stock in France.

Dave can likely get it for you, probably atsome point early-ish next week. I don’t have a matrix here or I’d be able to give you a rough price, but from memory G2 ain’t too sore.

    Re: European Pricing

It could be the taxation system Chris as, IIRC, the Scandanavian countries are hit really hard on that front and are even more expensive than the UK.

Oh and type in a whole host of things to do with the industry into Google and you’ll get UKW and MSN and Altavista and Jeeves and, and, and… 😉
