KeymasterRe: Rosieres 4040DB burner control knob
Hi Tom,
If you drop Dave an email to spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk he’ll deal with that for you on Wednesday when he’s back in the office.
Shouldn’t be a huge problem but those things aren’t cheap if it’s the chrome ones. 😕

KeymasterWell you all know my sentiments on it and I stand by the people I suggested 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} as I think they’ll do a sterling job frankly.
We can rotate it later but would those three accept the appointment on a tempory basis till we ratify it officially?

Keymasterjulian,
To replace the pump, about £80ish ex VAT all in incl. labour and the module is about £50 on it’s own. and a heater, were it required, about £20. So really it’s not that bad but MFI are pretty reasonable on spares pricing. 😉
Avoid Servis like the plague is my advice and Candy isn’t much better these days. 😕

KeymasterRe: Repairs@ Module
The reason we don’t see any details is a privacy thing which you all know I go on about a fair bit. The customer is yours, not ours and the details are, so far as we’re concerned, confidential between you and your customer. All we’re doing is trying to point them towards you instead of some wild guess in Yellow Pages.
The email I need to delve into the code for. Since I’ve had a glass of bourbon this evening that’s not too hot a plan right about now! 😆
As for any bugs, I’d rather hear them than not as it’s the only way you get them fixed. 😉

KeymasterRe: HELP! APM 8502 Washing Machine Problems
Hi julian,
The no-spin could be a blockage or a module failure, possibly the capacitor but if you’re not sure it is an engineer job to delve into it. It’s unliklely to be anything else although it is possible.
Heating, if it’s erratic, is pretty unusual IME on these machine and I’ve seen one or two. 😉
To replace it with another integrated machine you’re looking at spending a bit, certainly a lot more than a repair I should expect. Very hard to get a decent integrated washer as well, most of them ain’t that hot IMO.

KeymasterRe: Repairs@ Module
Test away! If there’s any problems then let us know, we’re not perfect but we do try. many say “trying” but that’s another tale for another time… 😆
Seriously this is the result of months of work on our part and that of the guys at Stropharia, we want it to be used and hope you guys benefit from it, that’s why we did it!
I also sincerely hope that you get a better quality of customer that is informed from the module in a way we want the customer informed and none of the “oh you charge” crew, we don’t want them really. Let them go to the cowboys.
We want the cream, not the dross.
And I’ve said it before, this is just the start of my little crusade, I’m far from done just yet. 😉

KeymasterAnd now there’s MS’s offering which I have to say, on first test, is pretty damn good…

And Li recommended it which is high praise from a Linux fan. 😉

KeymasterRe: differring page views
Actually, to be prescise many of the current firwall and AV/IS/PF software blocks such things with varyng degrees of success across most platforms and most browsers as well and, in each case, thre is often different results from what I can see. It would be virtually impossible to code in such a manner as to stop it from happening as Norton reads the code and “guesses” as to what is or is not an advert. All things considered it’s not that intelligent, merely bloody annoying for web developers.
Norton Pro versions allow you to enable or disable ad-blocking as they call it, some OEM versions do, some don’t dependent on feature set. Then you have McAfee and all the rest to consider as well, it really is a PITA.
I switched ad-blocking off on Norton over a year ago as it was blocking legitimate content, as it is in this case.
The reason I hadn’t added a link there was simply as there is a link on the picture to the article and it would have upset my notion of colour balance within the object. But if it’s that bad I’ll add a link later.

KeymasterHi Bill,
If you take a look through the forums this error was discussed at length just a few days ago. 😉

KeymasterKester,
Should be easy enough to get for you tomorrow, but can you give me the specific model number as I’ll need that for sure and the serial number as well. Caple is just a brand name for Maurice Lay IIRC so it could be a couple of different manufacturers that made the machine.
I take it that you are talking about the timer knob?

KeymasterIt was late, I’d had a light refreshment or two and I did it on the fly online with no spellchecking safety net. 😉
But I’ll sort it.

KeymasterRe: Press Release – e-Jobs
Okay we’re good to go!
This module will go live sometime today as soon as I’ve finished with the last three people that we have to add to it.
Long haul, but we got there. 😀
If you want your details added then send the damn fax! The more the merrier as far as I’m concerned and read the article on it by clicking the toolbox in the adevert and you might get the point of doing this.
Sleep, pah, that’s for dead people! :rotl:

KeymasterSomeone remind me to buy that man a beer, again! 😀
As ever Dave’s been a star and gotten all but three up there which I’ll finish in the morning I hope along with fixing Kevin’s PC. 😕
For subscribers, can you please click on the toolbox in the Repairs@ advert and it will take you to an article I just finished on the module. Please read and offer any comment if you think there’s anything wrong with that.
There are some minor changes to be made in the fullness of time that Dave has spotted, they’ve been forwarded to Calum and Paul and should be addressed soon enough, but these will not stop us going live with the module tomorrow… err, today.
