Dave was doing that Mark and they were getting pretty busy with the rooms AFAIK, Dave may be about this evening or if not I’m sure he’ll let you know in the morning.

Cheap Bosch is really Balay, made in Spain. Okay but hardly the greatest in terms of reliability or performace.

The LG is Korean (obvious really) and they have a habit of having the bearings fail prematurely. Probably as a result of the larger wash capacity and therefore more weight/stress etc. Plus the Far Eastern companies really don’t seem to know how to do service at all, I’d avoid.

    Hi Snikt,

Dave will price that for you, most likely in the morning, but glass is rarely cheap. 😕

A fair bit of it Mark, just a case of trawling through the General forum and placing the threads in the correct forum.

I have to say I’m far happier with that layout, I think it’s far more logical and intuative to use and hopefully will eliminate the “hope I’ve posted in the correct forum” remarks.

And err, no… we’re not short of work, quite the opposite actually. 😕

    Dan,

Without a model numer it’s going to be nigh on impossible to replace, but if you can get some photos sent then we may be able to identify it for you. 😉

    Re: Revenue Report

    Hey guys, this is good…

Just consulted my trusty calculator and, if the figures for last and this month hold on both Amazon and Google they will generate about £3000 into the pot alone this year!

Now who was saying it wasn’t worth having them there again….

And here I was thinking, “well it’s pretty bloody obvious REALLY!” 😆

Yeah I moved a load earlier and it takes a bit of time but it isn’t too bad to do. Just do it till you get bored or whatever then someone else can have a go, we’ll get there with it.

    Re: Blomberg 1501 AAA vibration

    Hi Alan,

I had a quick look at the diagrams for this machine and it looks like the German built one. That being the case you’re not going to replace it with anything of comparable quality (IMO) for any less than £4-500 I reckon.

Kinda makes the bearings look cheap doesn’t it? 😉

    K.

PS. you can also buy just the bearings (see Dave) and seal if you’re feeling up to knocking them out the housing…. even cheaper! 😉

Sadly there is a cost attached to getting someone to your door, the actual cost of that varies from business to business, but regardless of whether the engineer is there for five minutes or an hour that cost is often the same. What you are paying for is the expertise to do the job, he knows how to do the job in five minutes, most people do not.

So just in the same way in which you pay a garage £40 an hour or more we also have to charge for our services and knowledge as well as our costs. And we even come to you, we don’t ask you to bring the machine to us! 😉

However, £180 seems a tad OTT to take a sock out!

    Okay, started.

Let’s do them one at a time and clear them as we can.

Go to “moderate this forum” then tick the ones you want to move, select the “move” button and you’ll get a drop down of where they can be moved to. Untick the “Leave Shadow” box as that would leave crap we don’t want.

I’ll do more as I see them but this should make things a lor clearer for the punters.

    Well, actually…

Plan B was to remove Public Help, Site Support and Tips & Tricks as they are little used and there’s not too much to move bar the help one. So in effect we add one forum but get it a lot more specific and easier for the punters to navigate.

To be honest I’d give up on the site support one as well as that’s also little used.
