Well I too got the call which was pretty much expected.
What I’ve said is that I will not attend Brandt calls with any urgency and I want paying a lot more for it, quoting a minimum of 70{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} that require double or multiple visits. I went on about the spares, spares returns etc and Therese is going to look into it.
I’ll dream up something to put into the forums later.
Needless to say DAG have limited time to resolve this and I think that they know it. We’ll see what shakes out.
Kevin, did you manage to get back to Therese on it?

I’m thinking on a new section in the directories, which is ideal to list each manufacturer’s details as we have them and perhaps some comments on what WE think of the appliances, company and back-up from them, just general opinions from the trade.
So we’d have to collate it etc, but I don’t think it would be impossible to do. 😉

In so far as I know they all keep stock at a central location, maybe several if that’s what’s needed. Each has their own way of dealing with logistics, some even have their own transportation.

I spoke to Alex and here’s what I’m going to do…
Leave it till Friday then email DAG and tell them that we will only do a Brandt call when we are in the area, if the customer has to wait then too bad and un-shockingly they will be waiting. 😉
If it remains unresolved I will cease work on or shortly after 3rd Jan 05.
The reason I’m not taking the same tact is so that we can’t be accused of “ganging up” on Brandt although it’s as plain as day that we are. But as ever appearances are everything and CYA.

Nope not had that call but it comes as no surprise to me, Maytag must be getting desperate right about now I should think.
However it’s another high value product, low volume, pain in the ass to administer, pain in the ass to meet the customer expectations contract that frankly, unless they bribe me with lots of cash and stock up front, they can fook off.
Not worth the hassle frankly.

Dave will back this too, I know him well enough to know he will and I suspect that Dave Jones will too.
If it comes to it I’ll make some calls in tomorrow too and see what else can be drummed up in support.
In the end, Alex is right, the Brandt work isn’t really worth th effort, but just think of the shits it’s going to give others. 😉

Yeah, working together will accomplish far more in the long run and hopefully bring about a lasting peace.
I’ll mail DAG in the morning and point out the thread, they should be over it like a rash before midday.
Friday is always a good day to break that kinda news, as my old lawyer friend used to say, “fuck them on a Friday as they can’t do fuck all about it till Monday!” 😉
I feel sorry for Doom & Gloom in this as they’re between a rock and a hard place really but this will maybe give them the bargaining power that they need to sort it. At least, that’s my hope.

Okay, we’ll let DAG know tomorrow about the current situation. There’s simply too many people voicing discontent on Brandt and I thought it was just me.
The last thing I want to do is threaten anyone really but when it comes down to the money there’s a clear choice, loyalty or not.
If anyone else has had issues with Brandt please let us know, if you want it to stay quite then simply PM or email either Alex, myself, Dave or Kevin. Or there’s always that old telephone thing we all have. 😉
