    WARNING: Another grey area!

Okay, it’s okay so long as you do not disturb the gas supply in law (so far as I am aware) and that includes changing an ignition unit or plug. However, break the gas supply at all and you should have to be CORGI registered and that includes disconnecting to pull it out if required.

And here’s the BUT, if it did leak after you attended or the customer only noticed it then who do you think will get the blame irrespective of who did what? 😕

Well it’s most certainly sold through Moben or Kitchens Direct under the Tecnik banner so it has to be either AIS or BSH that are doing the spares. Given I don’t recognise the model number I’m gonna guess it’s a BSH one however, convincing BSH of that is often a bit of a chore I hear tell. 😉

Thank you Martin it’s nice to know that our efforts do not go unnoticed as we do try as best we can.

Dave did the minutes this time around, superbly and as you rightly say, very quickly as well and Kevin did his usual superb chairing of the meeting. So big thanks to those two.

If you do strip down or replace the door make sure you get it checked for leakage, you don’t want to be microwaved.

IIRC Imperial are a part of Miele, good dear, not cheap in the slightest though and expect a heavy price for anything. 😉

    Very low volume stuff too.

Oi Dave, I vote we give Kevin & Bridie the fancy room this time around, I think they deserve it after the year they’ve had, so fair’s fair. Plus I may have a little gift for our Kevin, more on the night. 😆

27th fine by me and I will look forward to a most entertaining evening of drunken debauchery. 😉

I probably could use the tags that way but in all honesty, it’s a messy way to do that. In fact, there’s very few nested navigation bars that aren’t messy IMHO.

The ALT tags are meant to replace an image if the file becomes damaged or lost as well as to offer easy navigation for the blind and partially sighted, it just so happens it can be put to other uses too as you can see. However I do take the pointthat as the site grows in particular that better help that is clearer may well be required, all I need is a few more hours in the day to do it! 😆

I will look into using the ALT tags, but I do think it would be at best a messy quick fix for the problem and a tad unproffesional to uses them that way, but that’s just my opinion. Plus most people tend to jump onto the site straight from the search engines and find what they were looking for, but they do also tend to have a look about from the feedback that we’ve had thus far so I can’t see it being a major problem for now.

We can all give it some thought though and any suggestions to make life easier I listen to and act on as required.

    Re: Anonymity

Whilst that sort of attitude persists in this industry some people have no option but to hide their identity as far as they possibly can and, frankly, I don’t blame them. The situation as it stands has been created primarily by a few manufacturers and WP’s who seem to think it’s okay to go around threatening the people that work for them and whilst they continue to do so, there will be anonymous accounts without doubt. Sadly, attitudes like that tend to come back to haunt you at some stage and it will generally prove to be very counter-productive eventually.

And just in case you think it’s no longer a problem, I have recently been made aware of a certain company threatening an agent (albeit veiled) for making use of some of the information and advice on UKW. Sad, very sad.

I think everyone is suffering Martin, not enough engineers to go around and no-one can afford to train new blood into the industry and that IF they can get anyone even interested!

Simple really, the public forums get a lot of attention and that is right at the top. 😉

The power of advertising eh, you all picked up on that pretty quickly. 😆

That page, just the forum index, recieves over 13,000 views per month on average and most of the public members will skip the trade forums as they are of no interest, as will a lot of trade members that have not requested access and, there’s quite a few of them.

Also, as I said, Paul will also supply to the public albeit at a price, so any retail business for him is a nice bonus and business he probably wants as he can actually make a decent amount on it.

    All in all, pretty simple.

DATA’s website is not up and running yet, that’s why there’s no link yet to an external site. There will be a link to the details in the directory and Paul does also do a little bit of retail as well as selling of finished goods.

TBH, I did it as I was yapping on the phone and trying to get away as I actually went out away from any PC’s and had a night off. 😉

PS. It’s after midnight so my night off is officially over. 🙁
