Heh, I just hope we can live up to the hype. 😕

At least we’re trying to achieve things and, hopefully, making some headway on a positive note.

But yeah, if I get my way, I’m only just getting started. 😉

Penguin is absolutely correct on the figures Ian but the UKW meetings offers something that very few other meetings can, neutral and friendly ground. As many of the WP’s etc. found out we’re not out to flay them alive but to work with them toward a common goal, make service better for us and THEIR customers as well as ours. And I strongly believe that by working together we can all work towards and help one another toward that aim very well indeed and, at the same time, bring benefit to the people in this industry that are using UKW as it was intended to be used.

It is only too true that there are many that will sit on the sidelines and not participate and, frankly, that’s there loss as the contacts and advice gleaned from these meetings is invaluable IMHO.

I should have initial news on UKW4 in the next couple of weeks I hope but, as Martin said, the next one has already been being planned for a month or so and it’s set to be a topper. 😉

Thanks Martin, we hope that in time it will produce more and more bnefits without actually costing much, if any, more.

All the details can be found on the following page:

Yeah, note no negatives there as we haven’t given him the bill yet! 😆

Anyway, yes Kevin got some shirts made up and they are rather smart, probbly about £12-15 but we ain’t had the bill for them yet. John is going to look at getting some done for less and we may well look at a workwear deal for subscribers as well so you can get your own logo on a shirt for less.

CDSL were also going to look into the idea too and see if they can do anything on this with the clout that they have in terms of persuasive buying power. 😉 That way we all really have little or no excuse for being scruffy, it does look better I have to admit even if I do like my jeans.

    That’s the plan anyway.

Thanks for the comment n2o, I like the site and others seem to as well.

On that subject of forum access I’m having a few thoughts and I’ll get back to you later this evening or tomorrow on it once I get a bit of peace and quiet.

    Re: UK Whitegoods Meeting No.3

Thanks Andy, we try to break from the norm a little in a few ways. 😉

We put a strong emphasis on the social side of things as well as the business as I and my cohorts think it is very important, as is having a good laugh and enjoying the event.

As Martin says it’s most likely back to Sibson the next time around so that’s not a problem, but point taken although it did lead to a rather interesting retreat to a hotel room. :rotfl:

I’m really glad you and others see the value in what we’re doing and why we’re doing the things we are, hopefully meetings like this put a better perspective on it when you hear it all from the horses mouth as it were.

Martin, you are more than welcome and remember, you had to put up with a drunken rabble as well! 😆

My thanks goes to the people that took time out to attend the meeting/s and especially to our guests who I hope found the event useful and informative, as well as probably not what they expected as they were all welcomed and not a cross word was spoken. It was fantastic to see, even competitors, all in one room able to have a chat over a cuppa or a beer.

David, what sort of deposits are you getting left?

If you can mail me a photo of it I will probably be able to tell you what it is and the possible cures.

    Hi Jon,

Except that AEG are actually owned by the Electrolux Group and you are in fact buying a machine often that is the same as a Zanussi, Electrolux or even a plain old Tricity Bendix with, like the bosch/Neff/Siemens a different facsia on it! The only brand that I know of that you can guarantee getting and will be well engineered and produced in Germany is Miele all the others produce appliances in other regions and are, generally, not as well engineered.

Thanks n20, there’s also http://www.gas-news.co.uk/ who are also not exactly best pleased with CORGI either. 😕

I wonder how long it will be before the general public twig to what they intend?

    Hi Chris,

It’s dead easy to do, simply send the details of your postal areas to either myself or Dave andany other information you want there.

If you subscribe (I’m not sure if you do or no as I’m working remote right now) then you can have the logo’s that you see for products covered and, of course, your own business logo can be put there as well.

No, they should be seperate if it’s a condensor washer dryer and it’s unlikely not to be.

Wash heat from the bottom, dry heat from the top.
