KeymasterAh yeah there’s two at the top, just below the facia (IIRC) that should go all the way through but they look the same as all the rest. Got me the first time I saw one that did. 😉

KeymasterOkay the one I’ll never forget…
Got into work one morning and checked the answering machine for messages. As I sat listening to them this old dear come on it crying her eyes out about her parrot. I was at first a bit confused.
Turns out the parrot had flown into her fridge whilst she had her back turned and settled in the ice box, yes of course she shut the door without noticing. After a couple of hours she noticed that parrot was missing and started to search for it, looking for open windows etc. only to find the poor thing was now a frozen parrot!
Laugh, I nearly wet myself. I know it was cruel, but I just couldn’t help it.
Funnily enoough after that she realised that it wasn’t a fault with the appliance, so cancelled the call, as dead parrots were not covered under the terms of the warranty! 😆

KeymasterBoth Dave and I are still very actively chasing this as it is an essential thing to have in this day and age.
Hopefully we’ll have more news on this soon, but some software companies seem to pretty much not care when it comes to getting business.

KeymasterRe: SMEG ?
Hiya Bryan,
I do and have done work for Smeg for a few years and I like them, but then I always got on with the Italian mentality and don’t panic when I see a diagram in Italian. 😉
Servevast have improved vastly in the past year or so, spares are faster and more accurate and the backup has gotten a lot better. Some of the customers can be a real pain though, they’ve paid for a better class of product and expect the service to match, which at the rates is not really at the races IMO.
Charge work off the back of it is okay though and there is some insurance work as well.
Most of the spares are reasonably priced with a sensible mark up on them but there are the odd ones that the prices begger belief. 😉

KeymasterNo, ’cause retaliation is pretty easy and can be a b****h. 😆

KeymasterOh yes, I shudder at the thought of a Merloni run/owned electricity supplier. Just thing, no-one would know the fault codes, the recalls would kill you (literlally perhaps) and you wouldn’t get power restored for at least two weeks!

KeymasterJonah,
I and others can only express that it was great to be able to help you out, that’s what it’s all about in the end. With any luck you’re happier and less stresed than you were.

LOL…
/me sings…
“Always look on the bright side…”
On the other hand, you really don’t want me singing.
Somehow I doubt it Penguin, given that BG Electrical side (alledgedly) turned in more profit than the gas guys did last year. 😉

KeymasterYes, Expert Appliance Care are indeed handling the service and spare arrangements in the UK for the most part.

KeymasterWait till Friday, I will hopefully have something interesting for in here and for the people here.
After that it may take on a different slant. 😉

KeymasterThere are several gags to be had there, but given that none are clean I’d best leave it. 😉

KeymasterIf you look in the forums there’s a fair bit of info on this one.
Basically it can be any one of a number of faults, but most likely the fill chamber blocked or partially blocked.

KeymasterLOL, no but it wouldn’t surprise me as BG are supposed to be short-handed as well, no real surprise there.
Good luck, it seems that already Merloni are offering customers a call two weeks in advance.
