Actually Martin, it’s not a stupid idea at all.

The only trouble is, can we get enough signatures? It’d take a lot of effort to get there I think unless we can engage others.

    Not beyond the realms though.

    Re: Lamona oven gas smell

CO doesn’t have any odour. 😉

Gas does as it’s added for safety.

CO alarms go off all the time, often for reasons not related such as exhaust fumes from traffic among a number of other things, including faulty sensors so, it’s not a slam dunk that the oven will be the problem. Without fully testing the entire gamut of gas appliances and doing a background CO check there’s no way to say with certainty what has triggered the alarm.

So, the oven could be swapped out and you’d have exactly the same issue if the cause of it is not determined and that’s not the reason.

The only thing to do is to get in a specialist gas engineer to analyse it all and check everything to try to get to the root of it and, that’s gonna cost you.

Deep joy, it’s a Stoves made one that there’s hardly any info on with little to no parts availability either by the look of it. 🙁

    Re: Lamona oven gas smell

So far as I can tell the HJA1140 is a built in gas hob.

The oven should be a totally separate appliance and will have it’s own model number.

Pipe cleaner would probably be best or something similar to that as, it’s just a hole with a small pipe by the look of it so probably just something stuck in there.

Re: Whirlpool to do a recall on Hotpoint dryers

Yup, annual or bi-annual service is the way to solve it if you don’t just ban them all. 😉

On another note, I heard on one of the grapevines that a large retailer that carries out service may not have been doing the mod correctly, only drilling the drum and putting the rivet in.

Wonder how well they’ll fare if one goes up after that’s been done!

Without anyone looking at it anything would be merely a guess at best. We could speculate all day long and still not get the right answer.

Lovely, looks like an unbranded import…

    https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j … JHBxWNvhCA

And given that Spareszone is Cata/Apelson/Hafele and so on that’s probably the only place you’ll get any parts or info on it from.

    Google says….

    http://www.appliancehouse.co.uk/shop/Ap … asher.html

Looks as if it’s yet another own label brand.

Who services it, who has parts for it, where it was made… no clue whatsoever although given the price and part number you found I’d hazard it’s Chinese in origin. 😕

Same problem, same machine then it’ll be the same valve required but do check the PNC number is the same as if not, it *may* be different. Probably not but, you never know.

The screws will be Torx no doubt, this sort…

Theoretically though, restarting it that way wouldn’t alter the sensor reading either.

And sensors tend to be either they work or, they don’t.
