KeymasterNo, that won’t cause an issue and is not a fire risk.

KeymasterYeah I heard that the bank, Santander I believe, have installed someone to run it.
So probably going to try and offload it as a going concern or, split it up and sell off the bits.

KeymasterSomeone said today that. building was up for sale, I know no more than that for now.

KeymasterDepends on the setup and how long it’s had an issue plus, without knowing what temp the freezer was down to it’d be a guess.

KeymasterSounds like a compressor or relay failure but most Sandstrom badged product was made for Currys by Daewoo who are no longer trading so getting parts is a problem for most as they are virtually all obsolete now.

The WTA had the facility to do that, I don’t know if it still does or not though as I’m not sure how much it was used.
And, the past couple of years or so since Covid there’s been very, very little happening in the industry so not a lot to report on.
However, if you search a company name on here you will often get info on them.

KeymasterYup, that one and a later error, I think on Currys or Argos with TVs instigated a change in the law that makes complete sense, the basic premise is that if you walked. into a shop the retailer could check but remotely online the retailer can’t check th eprice at the point of sale and much is automated or not curated by the very nature of online selling. Hence the change.
Now you virtually never see that but back then, people would go hunting for those sorts of errors and exploit them or try to.

KeymasterThey seem to do alright with it, they turnover in excess of £100 million apparently.

KeymasterComplete nightmare and prices have been volatile for at least six months, random changes, random amounts not one that you can say, oh BSH (for example) has put price up by 10{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}. It’s all over the place.
The law changed, due to TVs many moons ago and the order isn’t deemed to be “accepted” now until it is checked and the retailer basically processes it. Up until that point it can’t be taken as read that it will be honoured, hence the stuff about it on most sites buried in the T&Cs. But in essence, you as a retailer have the ability to “within a reasonable time” inform the buyer that the price has changed and allow them to make a choice on paying the extra or cancelling.
Most cancel it in a huff, then go off and find they pay more for it due to them taking the huff over it. People are strange.
Or they find someone that has old stock or is just plain dumb and loses money on it.

KeymasterIt was an old price, there’s a lot like that just now as price inxcreases of late have been all over the place. I think just with all that’s going on in the world.
A Bosch module the other day went from £90 RRP to £190 RRP, it can be brutal.

KeymasterI’ve not seen a Smeg made one for a while now so it probably wasn’t economically viable.
You need huge volume to support competitive production, hence there are very few actual producers left.

KeymasterI get a strong vibe something’s going on but it’s on the QT.
There are rumours, let’s put it that way, that all in the garden is not rosy.

KeymasterI have heard that some people have been made redundant including two directors and some sales staff.
Rumours of there being financial issues.
But whilst I can confirm some what I’v heard I cannot concern it all.

KeymasterThey don’t but do try to use powder, it’s just better. And cheaper.
