What model is it please, nobody will be able to see anything or help without that vital info?

That’s not a fault code, all you should get is:

F1 :: Air sensor (upper compartment)
F5 :: Air sensor (lower compartment)
FE :: EEPROM on power board

There are no others so I have no idea what that is.

No, you can’t override the safety stuff at all.

It does sound as if potentially the compressor is starting to stuggle on the freezer though.

    Hmm.

If I were to bet, I’d be thinking it may well be made in the UK, Scotland by a certain company that makes pretty much all the generic own label stuff.

I’ve seen, first hand, what it takes to make the stuff, test it and so on as well as get it through the conformity regulation and, let me put it this way, it’s like Joe Bloggs fresh outta prison with a few grand trying to set up an international bank in Switzerland… it just ain’t happening.

So, given and the evasive nature, you’ll probably find it’s a repackaged version (different fragrance and some of the mix) to the stuff you can get off the shelf from any large supermarket flying under their own label. If you buy enough, you can get it to smell different ways, packaged different ways and so on.

P&G/Unilever own several brands, they have different make ups depending on the brand, with each brand at different price points. I know how they do this and there are differences between each product and it’s not just the smell. But, neither of them to my knowledge make for or share anything with others. Any products from either are generally not comparable in many ways to others as they are most certainly not rebranded products.

I’d think the chances of anyone coming up with anything revolutionary when they send countless millions per year on R&D are slim, to say the least, and atop that to compete on cost of production as well… na, just na… ain’t happening.

Wash performance though well, that’s complicated. A long topic to talk about that there’s loads of articles on here.

Basically though, if you use a not very good (dodging the obvious wording) detergent in a not very good performing washing machine (that most appear to be these days) you’re gonna get not very good results and, you’re gonna be throwing out clothes way more and way earlier than you ought to be.

Sadly not enough people seem to care. So you get all of the above centred around BS marketing claims that often are simply untrue or a wicked perversion of the truth.

I keep seeing ads for it on YouTube so two things come out of that, (a) I’m sad and watch too much about appliances etc and (b), they’re throwing money at it.

Does it say who’s making them?

Another thing, you have just stumbled upon why I have little time for a lot of marketing hype, which many do believe that seems to more or less end up becoming a form of confirmation bias. Fact-checking as you appear have done, often completely ignored.

    At best.

I have been told some components will not be available till November at the earliest and that’s with a fair wind if production can restart. Some we may not see until next year.

    And that’s now.

I have also been told that some production facilities have been retasked to make PPE etc so, downtime, backorders of components, then production catch up…

It’s gonna be tough for a while methinks.

And, to cap that, if it does drag out till after the end of the year we’ve got a happy no-deal Brexit to look forward to as well (that nobody voted for (just sayin’ :))) that will muller imports and slow things up dramatically by the look of things as nobody has the first clue WTF is actually going to happen. Including out own government by the look of it.

Of course, that’s if we’re not at war with China, Russia and pretty much everyone else by then!

Ray of sunshine I am eh? 😉

There won’t be any bends in it or water would sit and smell etc.

It can only really be something in there blocking that and the only way to fix it is to clear it.

    😉

    • With NTC thermistors, resistance decreases as temperature rises. An NTC is commonly used as a temperature sensor, or in series with a circuit as an inrush current limiter.
    • With PTC thermistors, resistance increases as temperature rises. PTC thermistors are commonly installed in series with a circuit, and used to protect against overcurrent conditions, as resettable fuses.

The reason model numbers are not listed is, it’s very, very easy to get these wrong if you don’t know what you’re doing. It is not a thing that lends itself to self-service by any stretch.

Is it the fridge or freezer one you need?

I think you’ll find you’ve got a refrigerant circuit issue from that description as that sounds like it’s struggling to cool at all, certainly not cold enough to store food in and I suspect the fridge will be too warm as well. The fridge draws cold air from the freezer so, if the freezer doesn’t get down to temp the fridge will not cool correctly either.

Unless it’s somehow stuck on a defrost cycle but I’d think that unlikely.
