It can sometimes be caused by the freezer door being left open without realising… or a defrost cycle skips.

    Re: ISE agent work

    Thanks ken.
In many situations i have done and continue and try to talk people into buying quality and on many occasions i have success even when they are on a tight budget… My methods i think are good ones and i also never try to push anyone into anything they cant physically afford.
I do go to many a well off household and can really give the gift of the gab when need be ( without any smoke screens or bullsh*t ) and talk people into a decent product.
And as u may now be aware by recent posts i take pride in the product ( regardless of brand ) and am very true to my customers and pride myself in the service i give them.
For this reason alone i really would enjoy being part of the ISE team in respect of being a service agent..
I will return johns email, thanks for the help. 8)

    Re: ISE agent work

    Thanks guys..
The reason i ask is mainly due to the fact these look like the bees knees and with such a long warranty period and possibly no faults happening unless a odd freak of nature i cannot see myself being in huge demand but would love to have ISE agency work on my portfolio..
Also the area im in there is a lot of poverty so i think many sales or repairs may be very limited..dont get me wrong there is a lot of wealthy people in the area.. but there was also over two thousand in this area made redundent only last week. 😕

So im only assuming most around here buy medioca to low end machines.. aint knockin em for it.. just a fact maybe.

Re: Selling low end whitegoods, do you feel guilty?

The way i see it with low end white goods is that the customer doesnt find them as interesting as they do when it comes to replacing the TV or the like.
They just want the cheapest they can find?? dont seem interested in any special features apart from how fast it spins? and obviously the correct colour to match their kitchen?
When they buy a new tv they want the biggest..flatest…all bells and whistles because this is a product that “entertains” them.
I find that with a washing machine or f/f or dryer…they spend little time at it as it dont take long to fill it up wether it be a w/m f/f or t/d etc…press a button and walk away.. then forget about it.. i think they regard it as a actual chore.

This is just my opinion/assumption.. but obviously not everyone is like this.

It would be interesting to see a thread for the engineers on the forums to post what products they actually have in situ in their homes.

    I have a siemens w/m, sienems t/d and a miele ff f/f.
Close to 2 grands worth at time of purchase, all still under warranty.

A 35 to 45 minute job at the most, including cleaning and full leak test. With 7 to 10 calls a day I could not justify two visits to and from a customers house. A job like this would be completed on first visit every time.

    Jim.
Granted this can be done within the time u specified.. but a lot of times doing things at this speed things can well get overlooked and its highly possible that a second call is highly likely in my opinion.

Also i have set myself high standards and take the time to do things slowly and precisely which in turn makes me feel better and safer in the knowledge i wont be getting a call back to fix it again because there was something i overlooked, which also int urn could possibly get u branded a bad name!

PAT-UK … how would u damage the walls.. if u took your time and were careful? never happened to me once that, if its a awkward house for navigating then i take a helping hand. 😉

This is the way i work.. the way ive always worked and the way i plan to carry on working.
I pride myself in the quality of service i supply and would never geopardise this .

Why also is it that many quotes customers sometimes get from engineers when it comes to bearing jobs that are well over 100 pounds if they can wack em out in 45 minutes?

Each to their own and good luck with it all … thats fine and dandy, but i would be more worried about damaging a worktop or scratching a laminate floor doing them on site than i am worried about banging against a wall that can be filled , rubbed down and painted than being sued for a new floor or kitchen.

    Re: crack in hob

sorry but i beg to differ.. for many reason.
and many years ago when my father had hes shop.. u could see many customers machines lined up in the back of the shop waiting their turn to be repaired and returned.
I also have a van big enough to carry a vast supply of spares and still plenty of room to keep a new machine and room to “lift” a customers machine.
Touch wood.. never ever once had a claim made against me..or a customer not believing what repair had been carried out.
Trust is a word hard to get brandished with, but once got its very well respected.
Also when people bring appliances like microvaves or vaccum’s into the shop for repair.. they dont question whats been done…they take our word for it.
