With these machines you normally turn the dial off, hold down the start button and the button next to it, then turn the dial one click clockwise. Let go of the buttons and then each turn of the dial runs a different component.

Check the dryer element, very likely it’s going to earth.

Thanks. Do you have a bigger copy of the images? I can only just make out some of the wording so not enough to actually tell what one I could use.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. Do you have bigger images of those details? The ones above are too small to be able to make out some of the details and they look quite handy.
Anyway, I have what the manufacturer is saying is the right thermostat so that is not an issue, they are saying this is a recent change and supersedes the previous design but the capillary is twice the length of what the old one was and because of the design of the housing, there really doesn’t seem to be anywhere the excess can be placed.
I’m just curious if anyone has changed one of these recently. I find them fairly common so would expect others here to see them regularly as well.

Cheers. We actually spoke to Whirlpool today and they are saying they are confident from the fault that it’s a blocked or deteriorating hose between the valve and the ice maker so going to have to get back out and check it over fully.

Guys, I can’t believe it after spending so much time on this but you are both right. The initial thing that threw me off was the machine in question has a 65 degree normal wash listed on the button, but the coding shows all the normal washes are 55 degree so I convinced myself it was a problem with the board from the start.
If I ever see either of you in a pub, I owe you a drink. Thanks for saving the little sanity I have left. 😀

I know this is an old thread but I’ve hit the same problem today with the same pcb and wondering if anyone has any suggestions.
Machine was not heating and turned out the board was blown, I replaced the board (264882) and programmed as per instructions. Tried an intensive wash and a “normal” cycle and it doesn’t heat, found out by chance however that it is heating on a quick wash and an eco wash.
It’s like the buttons have pretty much reversed on the board, however this may not be the case as not actually timed a full program yet to know for sure. The coding was definitely carried out correctly.
Any ideas before I loose my head with this machine?
