Re: Advice needed – Safety Issue!

    Finally hit the newspapers today(Mail)

How many more different makes and models are out there? that the manufacturers are keeping quite about
As they say “when the brown stuff hits the fan”

    Re: Holiday time

We are staying near Ostins, room only at Butterfly Beach hotel. Thought we would try going none all inclusive, just eating drinking out when and where we want.
Flying with Virgin, although holiday booked with Travel Republic.
What do we need to look out for to be Street wise? I noticed that a tourist got shot whilst being mugged a few weeks back, I dont think need to pack my AK47, not the same in Jamaica that was a rough old place to have a holliday

Most likley the PCB allthough the machine should be checked for a Earth Insulation fault(which should be done at all times before and after a repair) unless you can do this then its engineer time. Your dishwasher is a BEKO b.t.w. PCB is one of the cheapest on the market

    Re: Bosch Dishwasher Recall

Its down to poor manufacturing of PCB’s We have all noticed how many PCB’s have failed due to dry joints around the heater relay’s, not just D/Ws. 20 odd years ago I was forever patching up Whirpool washer PCB
Circuit boards are built robotically, components being inserted in position then the boards are floated through a bath of solder. This is where I think the problem lies, not enough heat. If I look back to all the boards I have repaired its the larger components that have “dry joints” Basically as I have said, not had enough heat to solder correctly on a one sided PCB. Circuit boards that have “though the hole inserts” generally dont get dry joints.
Incidently forget the maths use a clamp meter to see how much current the heater circuit takes on various appliances, with lower wattage elements being used then the current is often around 10amps, these are still causing dry joints.

Anyway can we get back to the thread please :offtopic:

Interesting fellas, looks like we all agree that Bosch are making a right bol****s (Martins vocab) 😀 of the issue as I would have guessed in this day and age.
My worry is that I have already identified other models at risk but the automatons on the phone wont listen.
Its a shame that we will probably have to wait until a Fire Service intervenes after a fatality as in the Beko situation before Bosch sit up and pay attention to their customers safety and wellfare and not their profits.
I have as all of us have been a position to promote sales of the different manufacturers appliances over the years, Bosch has allways been high on my list of recomended buys, I now have to think
    You heard it here first

How do you know the pump is running slowly?
Is the water alternating between top and bottom spray arms, if not it could be the heater box/diverter valve. Is the wash pump impellor ok, can get damaged which slows down the water flow
If the Cap was faulty the motor is unlikely to start and would just “buzz”

I cant see the flow meter a problem, machine fills ok and opens the dispenser, though I did check it.
