Good to see some one is still working like me Pengy.

Looks like I will have to dig a bit deeper, only problem is this one’s a 20 mile round trip and is sodding built in with the usuall cra* plumbing. Should really tell her its not economic to repair and buy a new one, but thats not my way!! What a mug

Yeah have done that my furry friend.

(F4. Draining failure. Drain pump, control board OWI or water indicator defect. )

This ones drains tho, thats why its puzzling. I am tempted to think this could be a board or NTC fault, although I have not checked its resistance yet. The d/w does not heat in the short period that it is on. The element is ok. Might be a “time out.

As Dave says, motor problem, if you can hear a “buzzzing” after the water has gone into the machine and the water is not spraying about, then you have circulation pump problem. Early pumps are prone to this, they have been updated. You will require an engineer to replace this

    Re: SMEG DISHWASHER MOD DWF66

Silly question. Have you started at the begining and checked the power supply. socket, plugtop, loose fuse, etc.? When the appliance starts to use a bit of current it can make a bad connection fail

    Re: hotpint dwt10

I have had customers that have never used the 3 in 1 tabs, kept the filter spotless etc. and still have this problem.

I was recently working at a customers house and she informed me that she was also expecting a Hotpoint engineer that day, to attend to her two month old Hotpoint d/w. His fifth visit for flooding. She had been advised on his previous visit to “just tip the appliance back to let the water run out, and then it would work. Knowing fine well that this amount of flooding would by now have made the circ. pump unsafe.(what a great design, the base floods and the circ.pump gets immersed)
At the time I had my megger in use on my repair so I gave her D/W a test. Yep, it was down to earth. I advised her not to attempt to use the D/W and to tell the Hotpoint engineer to take the apliance away and get the company to refund her money!!!!
I think this series of dishwasher have an inherant fault. The previous model had two overflow vents on the front lip, this model flooded so they changed the overflow to a “turret”. My opinion to this flooding is that I think water is being deflected of the crockery and hitting the overflow vent. This would explaing the irregularity of the fault.

    Re: Hopoint/Idesit TEST BLOCK

I think I am right in saying that we cannot do a test program without one of these. Jhonnyj, you are right, £130 is a bit steep but its true to form for Indesit. With a bit of luck we may see a copy part come onto the market.

    Re: 10 TO 12 CALLS A DAY

Fair point Mike, all I am saying is that I have seen first hand guys getting fatigued, as in my Hotpoint days when call backs were in your own time, on top of your daily workload. This only compounded the error level. It fair to point out most of this stress was instigated by poor management. Self-employed engineers do what has to be done, it is their business after all, and so I have no qualms about working all hours.
I tip my hat to you Iadom, must be all that squash that keeps you sprightly. I would love to do 3-4 miles per call, but in a rural area it’s not possible although I did managed three calls today only a few hundred yards apart!!

    Re: 10 TO 12 CALLS A DAY

    Hi Deltra
I am also “up here” my mileage per call is an approx 12, don’t you just love the rural areas. I used to work for Hotpoint and they expected you to complete 9 calls per day, if you missed any thing when you did a repair they wanted you to do the recall in your own time. It was a bit of a bug*er as some of the lads were having to go back to two or three call-backs some days, consequently these guys were working excessive hours. So it payed to do a thorough job first time round, this is why I raised this thread. We all know its sods law when you rush a job you make mistakes, in our line of business they can be fatal. So I wonder if a 10 or 12 call rate might be a tad too much. The two previous replies point out the hours they are working, personally I would be knackered if I worked those hours and I am sure my ability would be impaired, but that’s me, I am getting a bit long in the tooth!!!

    Thanks Deltra
Thanks for the reply, I have already been on the BSH site, unfortunatly they do not display a wiring diagram, so I still need it if someone can help.
