    Mal,

I find letting the m/c fill to level then opening the door and watching for the drips works.

Normally it is in the goove where the filters sit.

I hand filled the DW with a jug and kept checking at different levels, my opinion is the same as yours, where the groove is. It would be nice to find out if BSH would supply the solder, good customer relations and all that the DW is less than 6 years old and she is not happy that it may be a right off

    Thanks Greg

Solder would be good if I could actually find the hole!! ( nurse the blinds) I know its there but it’s behind the sound proofing.
    Mal 😉

You are a lucky boy then, one in ten. I cannot remember when I last saw a correct installation, sorry I see my own every day 😉 😆

We have some very expensive kitchen companies in this area, I have made a point of calling to see one or two of them to request that they install the appliances better to facilitate repairs and service, I was just told that access to them was my problem not theirs.

Every time I do a repair where these companies have done poor work I ask the householder to give them ear ache, who’s problem is it. 😉 one day they may improve their standards, pigs may fly

Don’t try this at home, if you are planning to get any work out of these kitchen companies 😥

In conclusion I would have to say that it is not a lot easier today, nor would I agree with Ken when he says it is ‘a lot harder’. Its just a different world, some things are better and some are not. On balance I would say that I would not like to be starting out in this business today, but then that could just be my age. 😆

More frustrating if anything Jim, having to work on cheap crap is not my idea of a good time. As engineers we probably don’t get as much satifaction as we used to when appliances were well built.

There are more and more built in appliances which are so badly fitted by John Wayne’s mates, three built in DW’s today, the installation would have been done better by the Early Learning School 😥

The jury is out for me if I am still enjoying what I do, I suppose if my numbers came up on the lottery I would be biased to kick it all into touch :rolls:

This is how these companies get away with it, unfortnatley most people give in to easy or can’t be bothered 🙁 Is it the British way?

    Re: Bespoke kitchen ding dong!

    How about this one 😉

I recieve a call to repair a built in DW,when I arrive the owner says “I have tried to get it out myself but there seems to a problem with the floor”he wasn’t kidding, the kitchen fitters (loosly phrased)had laid ceramic floor tiles after the units had been fitted over an inch up the plinth.
Then he finds that the kitchen company has done a bunk 😆

Anyway we got the repair done several weeks later after he had hacked the floor up 😆 plus extra charge for the wasted visit 😈

The element I am after has a ” central” grill element surrounded by the oven element both terminating on one fixing plate.

Update on this, the picture looked right but the received item was not the same. I am still waiting for Connect to get back to me, they do seem to forget to when they have a problem IMO 🙁

    Re: Trojans

Finally got the office PC up and running again, the worst part of it all is when I tried to restore to an earlier date ( Win XP pro) the system locked up, AVG had moved critical files to the virus vault. 👿 On re-installing AVG and doing a virus check, no viruses found. AVG is set to check for updates daily unfortunatly the virus downloaded before the update that would have fixed it, bad timing or what or is there something more devious out there? :rolls:

Now all I have to do is to get this damm keyboard back into English 😕
