What with the warm nights and open windows, I’m creating a huge collection of moths that seem to just die for no reason (probably cremated on a light bulb) π

ParticipantRe: Pat testing
I did the course a few years ago, mainly to have the “pieceβ of paper saying that I am competent.
Bit of a laugh though, out of 12 people on the course only two of us were electricians. There were office workers, male and female, a handyman from a caravan park etc. etc. Most of the examiners day was spent giving basic electrical knowledge to these individuals. Two females told me they did not have a clue what was being said and hoped that their bosses didn’t make them do the testing!!!!
As for the guy who worked at the caravan park, I watched how he wired up a 13a plug top, totally unsafe, catβs whiskers of wire everywhere sheath striped back from the cord grip.
At the end of the day I can honestly say only two people walked out of that room that would be competent, but ALL had that “piece” of paper.By the way, who qualifed a washing machine as a portable appliance? π

ParticipantRe: zanussi DW907 dosent move on
Have you got continuity in the heater wiring? If I remember right this is one of the models that ended up with broken wires in the door where it hinges. Worth a check π

ParticipantRe: LG WM16220FD Bearing change
Thanks Eastlmark
You are right about SEME although I have found some Electrue bearings which a bit more sensible on price
For reference:-
SEME W1-04615c3 6305 SKF bearing
SEME W1-04616c3 6306 SKF bearingApprox Β£12 the pair
Not sure if Electrue are SKF
I think these bearings are used on quite a few LG models

Thanks Andy π π
I am fitting a new drum back half which up-rates the machine to a 35 mm shaft, less problems if it has to be replaced again. π
