    Hi,

The cable is outside the oven so it’s impossible for fat to get on it.

The Stat, thermolimiter and cut in sensor all work. The cooling fan is dead.

Switches are fine too. The insulation fibre was burnt near the element earth and the spade connector was carbon scorched.

It’s not overheating atm as I have it on quite a cool heat and no chasis on.

Think I’ll buy a fan and check that out…

Saw some scorching on the earth lead to the top element, also on the insulation fibre. Cleaned terminal and using a new element.

Think the cooling fan is blown though from all the tripping and current surges. Doesn’t come on atm but the casing is off, just for now, so it shouldn’t overheat.

    New fan is £85

Yeah, I’m just not 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} certain my multimeter component testing is up to scratch!

I’ve put the top new one in and am testing if it’s stable…

I guess the cooling fan just comes on after the oven is switched off and then the cut out sensor tells it to switch off when the temp gets below 50°C…

    Thanks for the reply….

Just determined the two items I tested that didn’t give a resistance was the cooling fan assembly and cut in sensor; [h=1]CUT IN 50±5/40±5°C NO J00651415[/h]

Would that cause a cut out after a few mins?

What other bits are needed to fit it Dave?

Do you recommend getting a quote for fitting from an engineer or having s bash myself? I’m a reasonable DIY mechanic.

    Cheers.

I’m assuming this is the correct spare?

    Thank you

    Hi Dave,

    Thanks awfully for the reply.

    Enr is Bosch WVD24520GB/11.

How confident are you with that diagnosis?

Absolutely not impugning your expertise incidentally

    Cheers

Yeah. I know what you mean. I have no outside space and live on a main road! On the upside I have a harbour side 2 min cycle away, so am better off than a lot. It’s peaceful sauntering down there on the scrubland. Think it will be late summer before any semblance of normality, that’s exlcuding pubs!

    All the best. Matt

electrofix wrote:the 32a rating really only relates to the size of the terminals as the cables are being squashed together anyway. so it will be fine

plus as with most appliances the current rating is max. Unless you have 10 people round for dinner its unlikley you will draw anywhere near this current. If your only using the oven it only takes 12A

    Dave

Much appreciated, once again Dave. Wish I could buy you a for beer!

all they have done is go in and out of the oven

so wire goes from switch to oven and oven to hob

chances are with the oven you have the terminal block will not be big enough to take 2 6mm cables so you will need to add a 30a 3 terminal joint box and you will need a short peice of cable to go from the box to the oven

    Dave

Is a 30 amp junction box ok if cooker requires 32a?

    Is this ok Dave?
