ParticipantPoured some water into the cooling tube, as it wasn’t reaching the hole and it’s drying perfectly!
So I’ve found the problem! Just to fix now!

ParticipantHi Dave,
Thanks for info.
I looked at the little Square reservoir thing on the condenser tube which is connected to the condenser inlet valve.
Water is trickling into it but very slowly and not quite reaching the hole half way up that leads into the condenser coolant tube.
Ie no cold water in tube to leech out hot moisture from drum. That has to be the issue?
The only component to that point from the external water feed is the solenoid (new) and the tubing from it.
Check tubing for blockage?
Cheers bud.

ParticipantUpdate, water is heating up in the drum. I can feel the heat through the plastic and there’s some fluctuating voltage at heater terminals, it may not have been activated when I tested earlier.
So now it’s just an issue of the condenser not absorbing the moisture.

ParticipantCan’t upload photos as it says my user group only has 19.5kb left! Sure you get the picture though!
Cheers

ParticipantCan’t detect any voltage at the heater terminals while it’s on the boil wash. Multimeter on 20v setting.
I’ll be able to tell if it heats as the condenser tank is half full on the side of the unit.

ParticipantIt’s a brand new three way solenoid so I assume it’s working OK and opening. There’s a little square plastic housing connected to the condenser pipe and you can take the top off and it’s half full of water. I cannot see any blockages in the condenser pipe as it’s semi transparent.
I’ll have another look and put some photos up if I can.
I just did a load of wet cold washing and it came out steaming wet and hot after drying. Don’t get why the water’s not heating or the condenser working. Maybe there is a blockage.
I’m going to put a 90 Celsius wash on and see if I can detect heat.
Thanks for replying anyway Dave, you’re a gent.

ParticipantHiya,
I replaced the two perished NFC connectors on the lower hose now the dryer fan is heating. However my two original problems, no heat on was and no moisture evaporation on dry mode are still persisting.
I replaced the inlet solenoid as the one for evaporation had no resistance reading. Also the heating element in the drum has a resistance of 30 ohms and the temp sensor 3400 ohms, so I’m assuming they are within tolerance?!
Now I’m thinking board problem, maybe? So wondering whether I might as well give up and invest in a new one or call out an engineer, nay thoughts??
Thanks as always.

ParticipantThanks Dave. I’m going to try and get some new connectors today.

ParticipantYes Z for Zanussi!
I put it on a boil wash for a few mins, couldn’t feel any heat. Probably try again.
Would a open circuit wiring loom on the NTC module prevent the dryer elements from heating up do you think?
Thanks again

ParticipantActually maybe the wash cycle is heating up, I just couldn’t feel the heat and the laundry wasn’t warm but was clean. Any easy way to know?
The dryer definitely isn’t heating up.
Thank you

ParticipantHi Dave,
Thanks for the reply.
Pnc is 91460320700.
Resistance across stat is about 1 ohm. I also pressed the red reset button for what it’s worth.
Do you think It’s a good idea to replace the temperature probe connector, think it’s suspect, for the probe in the duct in lower drum? Thanks

ParticipantUpdate:
The fan is working. The moisture is just not being absorbed and condensed. Washing is coming out red hot and steaming. Maybe the sensor in the steam drain tube defective?

ParticipantRe: Whining/droning noise?
Ok. Thanks. Dave.
Not sure why my link was truncated, it only was on upload. The link was to the fan motor, not the whole assembly you referenced.
I sourced a whole unit for £84 but will try and refurb this one first.
Thanks again.

Thanks for the reply Dave.Is this the correct part you’re referring to?

And do you think the diagnosis is correct? (I see what part you mean now, the whole fan and motor assembly)
Thank you greatly.

ParticipantRe: Knocking on spin cycle, help please?
SOLVED!
Working now! It was one of two things. Either, as Dave said, a poorly seated element on the restraint. Took it out and replaced carefully.Or I noticed a drying pipe loose from a drying fan. It could have knocked on the tub on spin. Think it was the first issue, so cheers Dave!
Two weeks of washing to catch up on! :rotfl:
