Thanks for the reply Lerch. I cant rember seeing any about but will ask customer if I get the recall – Is that a sensor band inside the tub as I cleaned where the sensor brush runs on the outside of the drum?

Suppose there must be thinking about it but never thought it would get dirty with all the cloths rubbing on it.

    Thanks

    Re: W/Knight 767C Cond T/Dry – overheating

Been back and done this one today so just thought I would update this.

Fan was a pig to get off and ended up spliting the end of fan where it fits onto motor to get off – did try with spade/sharp tug etc. but wouldn’t budge – word of warning tho straining to get the fan off looks like it bends the motor bracket – as the position of the motor and a foam spacer is all that keeps the front fan chamber cover on – make sure the bracket is bent far enough back to hold the cover in position.

Secondly when I took out the thermostat it was all covered in crud and noticed the corner where the stat fits in the filter housing there was a bit of crud build up to. This build up was not a lot and easy to miss but may have been enough to stop the stat from sensing the heat properly.

Next one I get of these where the m/c is tripping the TOC or overheating this will be the first thing I will check in future as it looks a poor design and prone to trapping crud just where the thermostat fits.

Belt didnt seem to much of a problem as the drum was held in place by the front bearing housing and rear vent chamber which kept the drum in a resonable position to get the back on. New belt might be a bit different as would probly be a lot tighter.

    Hope this helps anyone else.

    Thanks for all your replies

Thanks “Spin” – that would have been my first port of call but doubtfull if she will spend any money on m/c as it’s “3 years old so probly due for a new one” !!! :rolls:

    Thanks for relplies folks

Re: Beko WMA1613S – spin speed?

Thanks for the reply “Spin” – have explained all that to her but looks like the m/c is not reaching 1200/1300 speed as didn’t spin more that about 1000.

Just wondered if anyone come across this on these m/c before and what caused it.

I know from other m/c that it could be the 1200 field winding o/c, module or timer – just wondered if there was one specific that it was most likely to be on a Beko m/c.

Most common fault i have found for this prob on other m/c has been a broken wire at the motor term block but checked this and all ok.

    Thanks

Thanks Jim – never thought about googling 😳

Certainly not spinning at 1300/1400 more like 1000 so sounds like that might be the prob.

Anyone had this on these m/c and most likely cause?

    Thanks

Thanks for that Chay – feel a bit more confident about tackling the job now.

Just didnt want to waste loads of time struggling when there was no need. Oh for the days when manifactures made access and repairs obvious.

Thanks again for all the replies

Thanks for the replies guys appreciated.

So am I right in thinking that because I cant see the belt the only way to get the belt on is with the back off – place the belt round both drum and motor pully – afix back to drum bearing and force back into position and screw back on?

Looking at the Bosch equiverlant on their web site the front pannel is a seperate part – just wondered if anyone tackled this thru the front and is this an easier way?

    Thanks for the replies folks

Did try to get the fan off with a couple of screwdrivers but didnt seem to want to budge – enough for me to think it might be screwed on like the old ones but if i know its def a spline type I can force a bit more but will order new fan to be on safe side.

The other problem i can see is getting the belt on once the job is done as peering past the fan I cant see the belt on the fan side of motor + there seems no point of access to get to the belt. How do you get to the belt as this looks like it might be a tight (pain in the bum) stretchy type?

Is there any reason not to do this from the front (like its all welded !) as it looked like it might come off – just wondered how they got it all together on production line? – Cant see them spending a load of time stuggling to get everything together.

    Thanks

    Re: W/Knight 767C Cond T/Dry – overheating

Went back today to change thermostat – this looks a pig and not enough time to spend messing to much.

Never worked on these before – How do you get in to change this stat – through the back or through the front?

If through the back (the obvious at first glance cuz thats where all the screws are) is the plastic fan screw or spline fitting and if screw how do you get onto the motor shaft to hold it while you unscrew? How do you get the belt back on as there is no way to get your hands in?

Which make me think access to all this is through the front? So is this sraight forward? facia off, unscew front and lift off? or are there any difficulties or anything I should be aware of?

The old types used to be prettey straight forward as you could access stuff through the base or a split back but this has solid base and a one piece back but didn’t have loads of time to spend trying to find my way in to find it was the wrong way.

    Comments appreciated

    Thanks

Good grief – just looked this up with Connect and price is £55 trade!!! –
checked with Masterpart and the price is POA and both special order

Where do manifactures get these prices from? – really feel they dont want there products repaired anymore. 😥
