Apologies -should be careful with my wording. The tumble dryer stops, but the timer keeps ticking and moving.

Thanks for the reply iadom, first time I’ve had the chance to reply.
Just a bit more information from me, when the timer stops it keeps on ticking and moving. Not knowing how it works or what it’s moving, with these additional symptoms will it still be a timer fault. Think I better get it fixed first time or she’ll be straight in the car and off to Curry’s to get a new machine – with or without me :rolls: impulsive.

Thanks for the advice -apologies for the late reply, its been manic at work last week – hardly been home. I’ve now been told be SWMBO, when it happened again yesterday- that if she leaves it the mechanical times goes around and after sometime it will continue the cycle. She didn’t think to mention this when she first told me about the problem.
Is this also a symptom of capacitor – or do I have two concurrent faults going on.
Thanks again
George

Thanks for the reply – I’ve had the drum full tonight with dry towels to check the motor – can here it going around and note direction – when reversed seems to do so easily and the direction of rotation has chaged, so could it still be a capacitor problem?
The condenser was washed out a whille ago using a power washer on low pressure – so shuld still be okay.
Air flow through the machine seems to be okay
Confusedm all seems okay but stats fail

Thanks for the reply 😀 – how do I check it and are you able to advise where its sited. As a education ❓ – can you help me understand how it would affect the stat.

ParticipantRe: CREDA Simplicity T622CW condenser dryer
Okay guys,
Thought I look around the dryer before taking it apart.
First tested the motor by operating with a loaded drum. Operated it for about 20 mins (10 drying and 10 cool down). Motor reversed several times without a hitch. So capacitor okay???????
Checked as much of the airflow passage as accessible – no blockages. Condenser a bit ‘fluffy’ but not blockages. Washed the condenser through with a hose (got the wet socks to prove it) So that would seem to be okay.
Took the back off – all passages are clear and back vents are also clear.
Stats – safety has continuity , heater (green spot )has gone open circuit.
Can’t think what the problem is – must have been a dickey stat.
Any further thoughts guys???????
Thanks for sticking with me

Okay guys
Couldn’t get around to it today things came up
Take it that just need to wash out the condenser – but I doesn’t look bad. Plently of air flow, but of course that doesn’t mean that its getting rid of the heat. just need to wash it through?
Re the capacitor – how do I check that (I don’t think its possible) and where is it situated.
Any ad-hoc checks or bridging things out can do before re ordering?
Thanks for the replies

ParticipantRe: CREDA Simplicity T622CW condenser dryer
Hi guys,
Been working away, so got around to fixing it this week. The heater stat was gone. New stats arrived from UK White Goods (green spot) on Thursday, fitted on Friday. The problem was fixed. However, the heat only lasted for two cycles, so back to cold operation by Saturday. There is good flow of air through the machine and a little water is taken out from the clothes so I’m assuming the air flow is going through the drum.
You can imagine the pressure I’m getting from herself to get it sorted. I’m going to take the back off again today and take a few measurements. Is there any other components I should examine – I can‘t locate the stat in the door? Is there anything I could have done incorrectly, or have I just been unlucky and got a dickey stat ?
Thanks in advance
George
