    Hi Martin,

    Thanks for your prompt reply.

The Stats I refer to are (1) Sheet 2 item number 0249 over on the left hand side.(2) Sheet 7 item number 0709 This one is bolted on to the top oven lamp holder assembly and this is the one I have just changed.

Very observant of you to note that there are two cooling fans, to be honest I had not noticed that. Looks like I just need to change the other “time lag of fan”. (and my glasses). Why two fans?, I dont think i have seen that before.

Thanks for the quick response Martin.

I had tried that old dodge on one of the earlier offerings, but I thought I would give it a Whirl with the one that arrived today. Start reading 1meg- disconnect earth- run for 15 mins-New reading 0.32meg. Verdict-crap elements.
Thanks for your help, I will let you know how i get on.

    Happy new Year.

    Re: Hotpoint FFA74P Fridge Freezer

Sounds about right. I am not sure but I dont think that there would be any sort of defrost heaters or such in the lining of the fridge section on this type of fridge. Could this happen through pressure changes due to extreme low temperature? I suppose if the defrost heaters in the freezer overheated it would blow hot air into the fridge compartment. Don’t know really, I can’t wait for the next one in the appartment block to fail so I can be there with my camera, so will the Hotpoint engineer I expect.

    Thanks Martin.

Is this a “Tank Off” job, in the manner in which you have so clearly described for the earlier models, or can it be pulled from the side ?.

    Re: Hotpoint FFA74P Fridge Freezer

Both fridges have gone to the big fridge mountain in the sky.
The first one was the worst, the 4 cuft fridge interior was reduced by about 50 percent. Its the back wall, top and sides. Wish I had taken a picture.

Noise is there “most” of the time.
I like Bobs idea of running with the spray arms off, got to be worth a try. I was hoping one of our Bosch friends might be able to help with some bedtime reading- any chance.

    Re: Hotpoint FFA74P Fridge Freezer

Hi Mal. Thanks for the response.

The situation with these two cases are that in both cases it was the same landlord in the same block of flats. These fridges failed during the hot weather and the landlord chose to throw money at the problem and change the fridges to obtain a quick result. What concerns me is what happens if more of these fridges fail. Before that event I would really like to be better informed in respect of the questions that I have raised.

    Hi Martin.

I had this problem a few months ago.

I got around it quite easily in the end with some plastic “surgery”.

    See my post 12th May.

Re: Bosch WAS28466GB/08 w/m Door Handle

    Feedback……

It was a problem with the frame 703031 not matching with the handle.

I took a gamble in the end and removed the 3-4mm “indent” around the edge where the handle fits. (difficult to describe but obvious when you have the part to hand) This is soft plastic, easily worked and I achieved a good result. Worked fine from thereon.

    Job done.
