    Re: Bosch Classixx 6 1400 – Not spinning (F:21 error & 1min)

When you have renewed the brushes, spin the motor by hand,if you hear any sort of clicking noise, then one of the brushes is installed the wrong way round,.

Motor brushes are more than likely worn.
Remove rear panel, you will then see the motor mounting bolts x2
Remove these then just put them back in a few turns, this will stop the motor from dropping out when you attempt to slide it forward off its mounts ,once it is loose. Remove the bolts and lower motor to the floor..
Remove the multi connector and also the earth lead. ..
Then it’s just a matter of checking the brushes for wear.
Brushes can be a bit fiddly to remove
You have to pull off the connecting
Lead, then slide the brass plate to one side till it disengages and just lift out of the holder… Anything less than quarter of an inch in length then they need replacing.

Try unplugging the motor connector, then see if it lights up,then you may be able to try the reset, before plugging the motor back in, if that fails it could be a faulty motor and/or main board

Re: Miele W919 WPS knocking noise during rinse cycle

    Hi
Could be a loose motor mounting bolt.
Heater element has come loose from its holding bracket, the element may be visible through the bottom section of the inner drum holes.

    Other things worth checking
    Pump filter may be clogged
Pump impeller may be loose on its shaft, check for side to side movement in the shaft as well..

    Drum spider support arms
One may have a crack in it…

Lots of things it could be,but narrowing it down may not be easy.
    Let us know your findings

Hi Rob, glad to hear your machine is now up,and running again.
As regard to the brushes, genuine ones do last a lot longer than non genuine, in my experience with MIele brushes, the genuine ones do seem to last around 7 to 10 years under normal usage, and non genuine ones around 3 years, .. All down to the quality of the carbon and the way they are manufactured.
As for risking the motor, i dont think you need worry to much, the motor is around 10 year old already, and used repalcements are not that badly priced..just check the brushes annually to keep an eye on them, and at the same time clean up any carbon deposits around the holder.

Hopefully someone with more expert knowledge on brushes and motors can advise further

Hi, yes you are correect in thinking it may be the shockers, this and iverloading the machine causes the problems you have.
It either puts a heavy load on the motor when it initially trys to turn the load during spin,or the flywheel hits the rear casing of the machine, momentarily causing it to slow down and then this can also put load on the motor, and this in turn causes the relay contacts to actually fuse together, and then the safery fuse will blow..
Non genuine shocks are available on ebay, i have fitted quite a few to customers machine at their request, and have not had any problems reported back… As for the board you will need to change both components… If you need this done, i currently charge £35 for the board repair, inc return postage, and a 6 month warranty…

    Hope this helps

I used to admire Mr Dyson at one time, now i just think he is a greedy little sod who makes over rated plastic C&@p. and charges 3 times what they are worth, mind you he has allowed me to make quite a few quid on repairing the things ! :). Give me a Miele or KIrby anyday…and a good old fashined paper bag…
    Rant over 🙂

Ive had problems with the breather hoses on similar MIele machines, they do seem to het clogged up.. Listen out for a kind of wheezing sound after tje machine finishes emptying, thats a good indicator.
Also check water valves,as recently i had a a machine that was filling randomly to to the point of coming out of the soap drawer, alarm bells rang when the customer said that even with the machine unplugged it still took water in!
